As we have hung out with the Whitlock's of Sugar Loaf, Rowan has been the annoying, but somewhat sweet younger brother poking at everyone as they found their soul mate. Here we get to see him fight with and fall for the girl next door.

Ms Michaels creates a believable dynamic here for both why Rowan and Charlotte dislike each other and why they might get past that to explore the chemistry brewing between them and possibly more. I enjoyed seeing them navigate the "I hate you" phase when it was obvious that they didn't really. The growth of the romance between these two was entertaining to see. Both Rowan and Charlotte have a lot of individual emotional growth that makes them appealing as people too.

The secondary cast here is fairly small, mainly the Whitlock family and a few close friends that help move the story along. It was fun to see the advice handed out by well-meaning people and if Rowan and Charlotte would take it. I am excited to see what happens with younger sister Brynn gets her chance to fall in love.

If you are looking for a “traditional” Adriana Locke book like the Landry or Gibson boys- this is not that story. Nothing But It All is an emotionally evocative book more along the lines of Sacrifice or Written In The Scars.

So many romance books focus on the beginning of a relationship and we typically don’t get to see what happens after the happy ending. Here we meet Lauren and Jack when they are roughly 20 years into their marriage and in the trenches in terms of relationship work.

I’m not going to recap the story- that’s what reading is for, but I will say that Ms Locke captures a situation a lot of people can relate to. The hard work of life, raising kids, and growing businesses has replaced the effort of maintaining a romantic partnership. One aspect of the story that I really appreciated was that while Lauren was the partner vocalizing the core issues from her perspective, she was also able to turn that introspection inward and see places where she contributed to the situation they were in.

Highlights are not really my thing while reading, but I will say that this book has multiple pearls of wisdom for anyone in a long term relationship. The cast here is small - Jack, Lauren, their kids, his dad, and just a few friends. The underlying core of love in all of these connections makes the premise of the story work.

The situation here (once the issue is identified) is a bit of an ideal and I’m not 100% real life would go as smoothly, but I also appreciated that Ms Locke did not present this as a “magic bullet” where everything was “fixed” by the end of the story.
This is a book I would highly recommend to anyone in the “trenches” of life as a good example of how to come back from the cliff edge that it is easy to find ourselves on.

This is the third book in the Time River series focusing on three cousins - this time, we get to spend time with Sheriff Ezra as he meets a the newcomer to town,Savannah.
These two each carry baggage related to trust and the past. Seeing the instant connection between them pulls the reader in and has you on the edge of your seat as you wait to see what will happen next.

Written in Ms Jackson’s classic style, the emotional elements of the story radiate off the kindle screen and it really feels like we are with Ezra and Savannah as they get to know each other and deal with the threats that loom over them.

Add in an excellent secondary cast (from the first two books in the series) and Ezra’s too cute for words kids and this is a winner of a book.
