3.5 stars - Worth a Reader's Time
Let Me Be The One features Callie as she returns to her hometown after receiving a shock and needing to figure out her next steps. When she arrives in town, almost everything seems against her, including her neighbor Tanner.
I liked Callie from the beginning. I appreciated how she stood up for herself and decided to forge her own path when she realized that her life wasn’t what she wanted to be. Tanner was equally likeable in his own way.
He comes with his foster family and they pull Callie in and help her on the way.
This is a feel good read. Tanner is a typical Foster leading man- a bit alpha, a bit wounded, but with a heart of gold. There is a bit of intrigue and family drama along with the developing friendships and romance.
The lost 1/2 star comes from a bit of confusion “missing” information around Callie’s parents. They seemed to do a flip flop in attitudes from visit 1 to visit 2 and it just didn’t make sense to me.
I definitely enjoyed Let Me Be the One and I am looking forward to Kam’s story.

What a fun historical!
Hurst is an unusual Duke and he is paired with an even more unusual lady, Miss Ophelia Stowe.
These two meet under unexpected circumstances and what follows is an adventure that could only happen in "high society" England of the late 1800s.
Hurst and Ophelia threw sparks at each other from the very beginning, making me imagine what it would be like to be a fly on the wall during some of their interactions.
I have enjoyed the Say I Do series of books. These can all be read as stand-alone entries, but they connect well together as a series.
