Undone By You (Chicago Rebels, #3)Undone By You by Kate Meader

3.5 Stars ✨ - Worth A Reader's Time

This is an entertaining addition to the Chicago Rebels series. Dante is the team’s General Manager and continues the tradition of falling in love with one of his players. Unfortunately for him, his love interest Cade has not openly admitted his sexuality.
It was interesting to watch Dante and Cade navigate the multiple layers of secrecy that their relationship required and come out (pun intended) with a happy ending.
One of the things that I appreciated about Undone by You was the fact that Ms Meader captured what could be a very complex emotional situation and made it relatable. I also appreciated that she made the issue of Cade being out separate from the relationship conflict with Dante.
Both Dante and Cade are easy characters to like and root for. This happens in parallel to Isobel’s story, so if you haven’t read her book there are some potential spoilers. While this is part of a series, it can be read on its own. The back story contained in Harper and Isobel’s books isn’t really needed to understand what Dante and Cade are dealing with.
Reading this has me looking forward (even more) to seeing what Ms Meader has in store for the youngest Chase sister- Violet.

QuakeQuake by Tracey Alvarez

3.5 Stars ⭐️- Worth a Reader's Time

This was an entertaining and slightly different story from trusty author Alvarez.
Ana and Daniel are basically strangers when an Earthquake strands them together away from their families (his sister is the nanny for Ana’s children).
I enjoyed watching Daniel and Ana work together to get home and solve the mystery of who was keeping her son from her.
This is the first book I’ve read from Ms Alvarez that combined intrigue along with romance. It was a good effort, but I felt that it reduced the effectiveness of each part of the story line. I didn’t connect as strongly with the characters as I have in previous books from this author and I think some of that is because of the time spent on the second story line.
I wish Quake had been a bit longer so that each story line could have been more fully developed.

Show Me the Way (Fight for Me, #1)Show Me the Way by A.L. Jackson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars - Would Recommend to a Friend

I’ve wanted to read this book since meeting Rex and Rynna in Kale’s book (Fight for me #2).
He is an awesome dad who has convinced himself that he ruins love - until they meet and she eventually thaws him out.
I loved watching these two together, especially with Rex’s daughter Frankie. Well written and engaging, Ms Jackson has a twist that is completely unexpected, but adds an element of intrigue that pulls the reader in and won’t let go.

Knocking BootsKnocking Boots by Willow Winters

My rating: 3 of 5 stars - Average Reads

This was a cute read, but seemed to skim the surface of the potential emotions involved.
Grace and Charlie are both good characters, but they have a lot more going on than we get to see.
It would have been nice to see more emotional growth and development from both Grace and Charlie.
