A Lie for a Lie, an all-new sexy second chance romance from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting is available now!

Hunting-A Lie for a Lie-28155-CV-FT
From the New York Times bestselling author of the Pucked series comes a romantic comedy about instant attraction, second chances, and not-so-little white lies.
Sometimes I need an escape from the demands, the puck bunnies, and the notoriety that come with being an NHL team captain. I just want to be a normal guy for a few weeks. So when I leave Chicago for some peace and quiet, the last thing I expect is for a gorgeous woman to literally fall into my lap on a flight to Alaska. Even better, she has absolutely no idea who I am.
Lainey is the perfect escape from my life. My plan for seclusion becomes a monthlong sex fest punctuated with domestic bliss. But it ends just as abruptly as it began. When I’m called away on a family emergency, I realize too late that I have no way to contact Lainey.
A year later, a chance encounter throws Lainey and me together again. But I still have a lie hanging over my head, and Lainey’s keeping secrets of her own. With more than lust at stake, the truth may be our game changer.

Don’t let the title fool you.... A Lie for a Lie is a sweet second chance romance.

Rook/RJ and Lainey have one of the best meet cutes I’ve seen in a long time. I loved watching their intense Alaskan experience and was sad to see it end....
Just for them to have a great meet cute .... again!

As fun as the first six weeks Lainey and RJ knew each other was, the meat of the story comes when they reconnect. In the real world, we get to see who they are as individuals in their natural environments. We see the growth that has happened and the emotional growth that continues as they decide if a second chance is possible.

Ms Hunting does an excellent job of creating characters who are unique, engaging, and easy to root for. The use of secondary characters to help smooth the way for Lainey and RJ was also handled well. Eden (the best friend) and Stevie (the sister) gave good swift kicks in the rear when needed and the hockey family did a great job of making sure they knew they could function in the real world.

My one complaint come from the use of gestational diabetes as a pregnancy complication that impacts Rook’s family. Having lived that experience 3 times, the descriptions of what happened to his sister in law didn’t ring true. Every experience is different, but for me, this pulled me out of the story when it can up. (This is a total person observation and while it impacted my rating, did not impact my overall enjoyment of the story)

Ms Hunting is a newer author for me and with each read, she confirms that I want more!
