Take Me Now by J.H. Croix ~ New Release & Review

TAKE ME NOW

J.H Croix

Release Date: August 14

A swoony hotshot firefighter romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix! It all started when my cat needed something expressed. Do I have to explain? That’s when Farrah Taylor walked into my life, a fantasy spun true. Aside from stealing my breath, she handled the awkward situation with aplomb. Turns out she’s my neighbor, and my grumpy cat has a crush on her. He’s not the only one. Neighbors with benefits is the perfect option. I don’t have time for romance. Until I want more. Until just being neighbors isn’t enough. *A full-length standalone romance.

Take Me Now introduces us to Connor and Farrah as they work to rebuild their lives in Alaska. This is the 8th installment in a series about Hot Shot fire fighters but can be read as a stand-alone.

Both characters come to the table with baggage that makes them believe they are not meant for long-term relationships. It was entertaining to see if they are right or not.

This is a book that I would say “does its job,” but doesn’t generate a strong reaction from me as a reader. Connor and Farrah are both pleasant characters and I liked them, but I didn’t feel like I knew them well enough to be invested in their outcome. Everything here feels like it’s surface level.

If someone is looking for a solidly written, feel-good story that allows for a bit of a breather from reality then this would be a good book for them!
