This book made me really hate my work schedule because it limited my time to spend with Miles and Penny! I think Miles might be one of my absolute favorite book boyfriends!
Here and Now brings us back to Ember Falls and the group of friends that we met previously, but don't worry—this is a complete stand-alone story.
I appreciated how Ms Michaels allowed the relationship between Penny and Miles to develop slowly and addressed the fears she brought with her to town. I also loved how Penny's son, Kai, and Mile's family (both biological and found) were easily incorporated into the story. There were places where they played key roles in nudging these two along!
Loyal Michael's followers will appreciate who Penny's older brother is (sorry, not telling) and the chance it delivers to see how this previous main character is fairing now.
The world-building here is seamless! We get to learn more about the friends that make up the series feature players in a truly organic way and have the perfect tease for the 3rd book in the series. I'm definitely looking forward to it!
