Oh wow - just when you think a story is complete, the author shows you just how wrong you were! At the conclusion of Down to My Soul, I was content with where Kai and Rhys were in their relationship. I was happy to let them ride off into the sunset....
With Refrain, Ms. Ryan brings us back into their world for a wild ride full of love, acceptance, and just a little bit of terror. The drama is completely external in this story, there are never any doubts as to the solidness of the key relationships, but there are plenty of surprises.
Incredibly well written, Refrain pulls you into this continuation of an excellent story and has you on the edge of your seat while you wait to see what will happen. Do not read Refrain if you have not read My Soul to Keep and Down to My Soul - the back story won't make sense. But, if you have read the two previous books, be prepared to curl up with Refrain and not let go until the very end!
