If you are a fan of Ms Flynn’s Hartigan books, then Wedding Date Disaster is right up your alley!
We meet Hadley - just as the wobbly wheels of her “perfect” life come off a little bit more at the worst time, as she is headed home for her sister’s wedding.
She is paired with Will, the evil twin to her best friend.
When the story begins, Hadley and Will have known each other for about a year and have had a contentious relationship. It was entertaining to see them “have to” spend a week together and have the layers of misunderstandings between the two peeled away and for them to get to know the real person beneath the assumptions.
Both characters have a strong arc of emotional growth on their own which makes their interactions that must sweeter. The side plot of Hadley and her family made me want to know the Donovan- Martinez family better! Ms Flynn did an excellent job of introducing us to a new set of characters into the “Harbor City” world. Not only are the main characters people you want to root for, the secondary cast is excellent.
I am hoping that Wedding Date Disaster is the first book of a new series from Ms Flynn and we get to see some of the secondary characters get their own stories! I need more Pawpaw!

In Her Aussie Holiday, Ms London returns us to Patterson Bluff in Australia and the Walters family. This time we
are with youngest brother, Trent.
In a very original meet cute, he is paired with American (and his sister’s friend) Cora. I liked Trent and Cora. Both came to their interactions with baggage that was impacting everything around them. It was interesting to see them push each other to grow while also watching to see if they would give into the spark around them.
There are several emotional topics touched on, but these really make the characters more human and real. Having now read two stories around the Walters siblings, I am curious about everyone else!

Say You'll Be Mine by Maria Luis3.5 stars - Worth a Reader's Time
When I picked Say You’ll Be Mine our of the TBR pile, I was looking for a light read - something just for fun in between a heavy ARC reading schedule.
Shae and Brady hit the spot! This is a case of high school sweethearts reconnecting after 12 years apart. There is tension, misunderstandings, meddling grandmas and more. There is some emotional growth and resolution of issues, but I didn’t feel like anything was super deep. This was a fun read and I am hoping to see more of the interesting secondary cast in future books.

Back Up Plan ~ Emily Goodwin ~ New Release
Backup Plan by New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Emily Goodwin is now live!
When we were only kids, Sam Harris and I made a promise we'd marry each other if we were still single when we turned thirty. Well, my thirtieth birthday has come and gone and I'm still as single as ever.
And as far as I know, so is Sam.
But it's been ages since we've seen each other, and after what he did to me our senior year of college, I wouldn't put his ring on my finger even if he begged me to marry him. Never mind his devilish good looks. Or the fact that the playboy partier is a doctor now.
Nope, I'm sticking to my guns with this, and when I go back to my hometown of Silver Ridge for the first time in years, I won't pay him the slightest bit of attention. Well...until he convinces me to go out for drinks to catch up. I knew it was a bad idea the moment I agreed to it.
And then he brings up our childhood promise.
It might be fun and games to him, but it's not to me. Because as much a I don't want to admit it, Sam has always been my first choice. And I don't want to be nothing more than his backup plan.

Reality of Everything ~ Rebecca Yarros ~ New Release & Review
Elizabeth's Review
4.5 stars - One of the Best
Review Copy Provided by Author
The Reality of Everything is one of those books where I wish “trust me, read this book” qualified as a review. But, since it doesn’t.....
This book is closely tied the the Flight and Glory series, which I haven’t read, but is very much a stand alone. I will say that having not read the Flight & Glory books had me a little nervous going into The Reality of Everything, but Ms Yarros creates an experience that can’t be missed.
Our main characters are Morgan and Jackson - both have history and baggage when they meet and become neighbors on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I found myself pulled into their interactions and budding friendship/non-relationship (to quote Morgan). These are people that I immediately liked and connected too. The secondary cast is entertaining (especially Jackson’s USCG team) and Miss Finely is a show stealer.
As for the story- well, that you get to read, but I will say that Ms Yarros deals with some pretty hefty subject matter here. We see our characters deal with grief, fear, determined exes, repairing friendships, and hurricanes. All of this is addressed with grace and empathy so that as a reader, we can relate to the characters struggles vs just watching them happen.
The Flight and Glory series has been on my TBR for a while and reading The Reality of Everything has definitely elevated them to be read sooner rather than later. As expected with Ms Yarros, this is a well written piece that pulls you in and doesn’t let go.

Wicked Song ~ Lisa Renee Jones ~ Blog Tour
A Wicked Song is the second book in the Brilliance Trilogy.
“How do I know that?”
A low, frustrated sound escapes his lips and he drops the medication bag, and spikes fingers into my hair, a low curse escaping his lips. His eyes meet mine, and the depth of the emotion he then spikes in me steals my breath. Before I can catch it again, he’s breathing for me. His mouth slants over my mouth, his tongue licking a wicked, seductive note against my tongue. And despite my injured hand and my burdened heart, I melt the way I always melt for this man. I melt and I moan, and when he tears his mouth from mine, I am panting.
“That is how you know,” he declares. “We are connected, you and me. We both feel it.”
“All that says is that I want you and that I have the potential to be foolish because of that desire, but I won’t live up to that potential, Kace.”
“How do I know you aren’t after my money?”
I blanch. “Because I’m not. You know I’m not.”
“Can you prove it?”
“You know I’m not,” I repeat.
His hands come down on my shoulders and he pulls back to look at me as he says, “I do know you, but that still requires me trusting you and I’ve had plenty of reasons in my life not to offer you that trust. Reasons you don’t know. Many reasons, Aria. Many betrayals. But I give you my trust anyway. I’m not after the formula, but all I have to offer is my word. You have to decide if you trust me.”
My hand settles on his chest, and his heart beats a rowdy song beneath my palm. “I’m very confused right now,” I confess, and it’s as honest as I have ever been with him or me. “And my head is spinning.”
His hand covers my hand on his chest. “Then let me take care of you. Let me take you home.”
There is a library filled with books the size of all the reasons I should say no, but even as I have that thought, he says, “Don’t say no.”
Words he’s said to me every moment of indecision I’ve ever shared with him. And right or wrong, like every time before, I don’t say no. I say, “Yes.”
In addition to the success of Lisa's INSIDE OUT series, she has published many successful titles. The TALL, DARK AND DEADLY series and THE SECRET LIFE OF AMY BENSEN series, both spent several months on a combination of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling lists. Lisa is also the author of the bestselling WHITE LIES, DIRTY RICH, and LILAH LOVE series.
Prior to publishing Lisa owned multi-state staffing agency that was recognized many times by The Austin Business Journal and also praised by the Dallas Women's Magazine. In 1998 Lisa was listed as the #7 growing women owned business in Entrepreneur Magazine.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars - Average Read*

Before I get started talking about what I liked (or didn’t) about this book - let me give a disclaimer- the best this book had a chance of getting from me was 4 stars. Why the auto deduction of a full star? Because it’s NOT an independent story. Wicked Song is the middle book of a trilogy, so it jumps right into the story AND ends in a cliffhanger.
With that out of the way....
I’m going to be a bit brutal and tell you that I’m not sure we needed Wicked Song to be a separate book. We do see more character development from both Aria and Kace, and I was able to embrace them more. The main purpose of this book seems to be entrenching Aria in Kace’s social circle. There are also more pieces of the intrigue element peeled back, but....
Even with all of the elements here that advance the story, there is also a lot of filler. The story itself is entertaining and well written, I’m just not sure a full book was necessary. I will withhold my full judgement until the third and final book comes out and see how the story resolves itself.

The One for Me ~ Corinne Michaels ~ Blog Tour
An all new and endearing friends-to-lovers story…
The One for Me by New York Times bestselling author Corinne Michaels is now live!
Devney Maxwell has been my best friend since we were six years old, but she has no idea I'm in love with her.
Even when I'm on the road playing professional baseball, she's my home--the only one I've ever known. But when I return to Sugarloaf to care for the family farm, I discover she's trying to talk herself into a life with the wrong man ... and I become desperate.
It only takes a single, perfect kiss to change everything.
I have six months to get it right with Devney--to convince her to leave this town and turn that kiss into forever.
I aim to do just that as I spend my days coaching her nephew's baseball team, fixing up the farm, and loving her with all I have. Finally, it seems like our relationship is secure and we'll find a way to make it work.
Then tragedy strikes ... changing her life forever. She's needed here more than ever, but as for me--there's no way I can stay.
I know she's the one for me, but I might have to let her go ...

Excerpt:
“Don’t play that crap with me, Sean Arrowood. I know you better. You want the wife and kids. You always have. The issue that you have is that you’re stupid.”
“Stupid?”
She nods. “Yup. S-T-U-P-I-D. And dumb.”
“They mean the same thing.”
“It required the extra punctuation at the end.”
God, I love the side of her that is smart-mouthed, fearless, and relaxed. She’s only this way with me. Or at least, that’s what I’d like to think.
The last ten years have been hard on our friendship. We both went off to college, I had baseball and she was studying. We’d see each other on breaks, but after the accident that changed the trajectory of my life, I stayed in Maine, and we rarely saw each other.
However, when I had a series in New York, Devney came. If I was in Philly, she would find a way to meet me, and I flew her down to Tampa a few times.
Now, though, I’ll be around her so much more, and I know these feelings aren’t going to go away, they’ll get stronger.
Yeah, I guess I really am stupid.
“Well, I may be stupid, but at least I’m not settling.”
She sits up, slapping her hand on the couch cushion. “Settling?”
“Yeah. You may love Oliver, but he doesn’t make you crazy.”
Devney shifts back. “You’re making me crazy right now.”
“Good.”
“You’re infuriating!”
I shrug. “You love me.”
“It helps that you’re hot.” Devney quickly covers her hand over her mouth. “I did not mean it that like that.”
I grin and lean toward her. “You think I’m hot?”
“I think you’re mediocre. God knows your harem of . . . whatever you call them . . . think you are.”
For so long I’ve fought against telling her anything about how I feel. How those women are faceless and mean nothing to me. It’s always her. Always a brunette who I seek out, hoping to find just a piece of something like her that I can cling to, but I never say it.
Then I wonder, maybe this is the perfect time. Oliver is going to propose. Oliver will marry her, and I won’t have a god damn thing to say about it because I will have never told her.
Plus, she’s drunk.
Maybe she won’t remember it.
“Maybe so, but I’m not asking them. Plus, all the girls I’m attracted to look like you.”
Devney laughs while shaking her head. “Well, it has to be tough kissing your best friend, right?”
And in that moment, I know what I’m going to do. It doesn’t matter that it’s stupid or wrong. I no longer care about her boyfriend or how this moment will undoubtedly change everything between us because she will marry him when he asks. Devney won’t falter. She’ll cling to the safe, and I am not that, but I love her.
I lean closer and her eyes study my movement. With a trembling hand, I cup her face and brush my thumb against her soft skin. Everything freezes around us as I feel the warmth emanating from her. Our breaths mingle as the distance closes. “I don’t know, but I’d like to see if it’s tough to kiss you.”
I wait, giving her one last chance to push me away, but instead, her tongue moves against her pink lips, which is all the invitation I need.
I lean in, my lips touch hers, and I know my life hasn’t just changed, it’s been completely upended.

Elizabeth's Review
4.25 stars - Would Definitely Recommend to a Friend

The One for Me is the third book in series surrounding the four Arrowwood brothers. Sean is the second oldest and we have seen him briefly in the previous books along with his love interest Devney.
One of the things I have enjoyed most about this series is that each couple and the circumstances around them are very unique. For Sean and Devney, they have 20 years of friendship on the line when they decide if they will explore the idea of more while Sean spends his required 6 months on the family farm.
As with all Ms Michaels’ books there is plenty of angst, but unlike the first two Arrowwood books, the main source of the drama isn’t Sean’s past or the damage done by his father. Where then does the angst come from - you will have to read the book to find that out! Both Sean and Devney are very likeable characters that I rooted for the find a happy ending. Add in an excellent secondary cast and The One For Me might just be my favorite read of this series. This is (as expected) a well written and entertaining read that was hard to put down.
