4.25 - I really wanted to do 5, but….. stars
Before I get into the full review let me explain that headline. I LOVED this book and part of me really wanted to give it the full 5 star treatment. But, this is the final book in a very connected/sequential series. There are events in this book that wouldn’t fully make sense if you have not read the previous stories. Because of that, I didn’t feel like I could give Tin Queen a full 5 stars.
Now - you are probably asking what makes this book so great….
The characters (Emmett and Nova are the main) are interesting and dynamic both as individuals and together. They both come into the story with secrets and baggage. It was compelling to see their evolutions and to see them question the things they know and decide what to do about the things they learn.
The story here is a bit different than the previous books, but Ms Perry still did an excellent job of maintaining the intrigue and tension levels. As with the other books, the balance between the romantic relationship and the Tin Gypsy storylines was well maintained. I was pulled into this fast paced story and couldn’t put it down once I got started.
I have to admit to being a bit nervous going into Tin Queen. I had seen just enough that I wondered how Ms Perry was going to be able to spin the set up into a satisfying romance. I should have had faith! With great messages about trust, forgiveness, and listening to your own heart this was an amazing send off to our friends in Clifton Forge!
