The Boss is a book I’ve been excited about since it was announced that it was coming out as a full length novel. I first met Matteo and Evie when they were written as a serial for Books & Main (now known as Verve).
I enjoyed the serial and love the additions Ms Moreland made to expand this story. The “meet cute” between Matteo and Evie is unorthodox, but it totally works for this couple. The dichotomy of Matteo’s character is interesting and it is touching to see how he evolves once Evie enters his life. Evie also blossomed under Matteo’s care and that was a pleasure to watch.
This is very much a character driven story with an element of intrigue thrown in. Not only are the primary characters people that you want to root for, but the secondary cast is great too. After getting to meet Matteo’s crew in The Boss, I am excited to see what happens next in this series.
