This was the perfect feel-good read!
Presley had a plan. She’s going to show her boyfriend what a good girlfriend she is and she just knows it will move their relationship forward. All is going well until he acts like himself and she goes on a trip alone.

That act of defiance sets in motion a series of events that will change several lives for the better - including Presley herself.

Presley and leading man Beckett are almost too sweet to be real, but I loved them together and how these two strangers seemed to mesh and provide each other with the support to find out who they were.

Add in a fantastic secondary cast of siblings, friends, and a completely awesome town and this was a book world I wanted to stay in. I only hope there is more to come from Smile, the Keller siblings, and Get Lost Lodge!

Are you looking for a feel-good read? One with friends who are family? Cute animals? A couple of semi-lost souls who find their match with each other - even when they don’t want to? Then The Bright Spot is your book!

The main characters here are Luna and Jameson. To say they got off to a rocky start would be an understatement, but I loved their interactions from the beginning. Part of what I liked about these two was how they learned to read each other and lean into the friendship and partnership that grew into more.

We also see Luna’s relationship with her best friend, Willow, and the struggles Willow has with HER romantic life. These interactions help shed light on who Luna and Willow are without doing super deep dives into their backstories.

The Bright Spot uses the situation around Apple Ridge farm to introduce us to a great cast of secondary characters and deal with core relationship issues. Ms Shalvis uses humor to show us the things that are important to the cast and lets us see them struggle in authentic ways. I appreciated the fact that multiple characters had to face semi-hard truths about who they are, what they want, and how to get out of their own way to find happiness.

This is set in Sunrise Cove, a community we’ve visited before, but is a true stand-alone read. Don’t let the #5 after the title dissuade you from picking this book up. The characters here are all unique and new to this book!
