I am currently working on a spin off of Feel Again, called Freeing Destiny.
Here is the blurb: Words to live by: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Don’t break the rules. I’d managed to fail at both by fraternizing with the enemy’s brother. Guess I’d followed in my mother’s footsteps by ignoring all the rules when it came to love. Mom was marrying a man only six years older than me. A man who was also her student. But the biggest surprise that came out of their wedding wasn’t my new stepdad’s academic status or his age. It was Jack Davis—my stepfather’s best friend. Jack was the guy who could change the whole game. He was quite possibly my soul mate. But time and circumstance were against us—there was no easy way around it. I was moving back to New York in two weeks and his sister, Aubrey, was the one person my family hated most in this world. How would his sister—the enemy—deal with another Edwards girl claiming what she believed was hers? The idea of letting Jack go crippled me. Would I have to cut ties with the only man I’d ever let into my heart?Do you get to write full time or do you also have a “day” job?
I write full time. I’m a stay at home mom, dance mom, class mom, Girl Scout leader and I am very involved in all aspects of my children’s lives. I received a Master’s in Accounting in college, but decided to abandon my career once I had my first daughter. Writing is a passion and I love to get to do this as my “full time” job while being here for my kids.
Favorite part of being an author?
Meeting so many amazing people. This community is amazing. I’ve made so many lasting friendships with readers, authors, and bloggers. I feel at “home” as an author, as if I’m right where I’ve always belonged.
Scariest part of being an author?
Putting yourself out there for the world to critique. I write from the heart and because I can’t imagine NOT writing, but every time I release one of my books, I get the feeling of a mother sending her kids off into the world for the very first time. It’s scary to allow that part of you to be picked apart and criticized, both positively and negatively. It’s a vulnerable experience, but still worth it.
Who are your favorites to read?
Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher are all time faves for me, but I enjoy variety. I love a sobfest and I can get that from fellow Indie Chick BA Wolfe. I enjoy a hot and steamy erotic take, and some of the best are from Livia Jamerlan. Quirky, erotic, and full of love I go to Elisabeth Grace, especially her Limelight Series. I simply enjoy a good story, no matter what the genre.
If you had $1 million to giveaway, what would you do with the money?
I should say something like donate to a charity, right? But I’m going to be superficial for a second, after I get all the plastic surgery I’ve ever wanted and remodel a few rooms in my home, I’d spread the wealth around to help cancer research, feed the hungry, and support literacy around the world.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
I always wished I could be a vampire, like the Cullens, because if I never had to sleep I could do EVERYTHING without feeling like there wasn’t enough time.
One piece of advice to an aspiring writer?
Keep going. Never give up. Write every day. Believe in yourself. It’s a crazy, crazy world out there, but it’s so worth it to follow your dreams.
