Oh my goodness....
To be honest, I struggle with the duet format a little bit. Part of me dreads knowing that I am not going to get the whole story when I finish the book.
That said, Ms. Kayla's effort in Torn Between Two makes dealing with the format worth it.
Our heroine, Sam, meets two very different men within a few days of each other and in the story that follows, we see her deal with both developing relationships.
I really liked Sam, but found myself frustrated with her a little bit. I understood her attraction to Hawke the rock star, but found myself wishing she'd met Josh the law student first. Both men have their battles to fight, but at this point in the story, it definitely seems like one puts Sam wants/needs first.
Torn Between Two is well written and pulls you into Sam's story. She's a likeable character that I found myself invested in and rooting for. I am definitely looking forward to the conclusion of the duet.

Mia Kayla is a New Adult/Contemporary Romance writer who lives in Illinois. Most of the time, she can be caught on the train with her nose in a book sporting a cheeky grin because the main characters finally get their happily-ever-after at the end. She loves reading about happy endings but has more fun writing them.
