Manic Monday, an all-new hilarious and romantic standalone from Piper Rayne, is LIVE!

The perfect man for me is a blood-sucking lawyer. #pfftwhatever
Been there.
Done that.
Burned the T-shirt.
I didn’t swear off all men after my divorce, but I sure as hell swore off anyone remotely like my ex. On the top of that list? Attorneys. Everyone knows they can’t be trusted.
Now that I’m back in Chicago, my focus is my daughter, my mom and me. I haven’t given up on finding my happily-ever-after, it’s just on hold—indefinitely.
Then I see Reed Warner again, and he weasels his way into every part of my life, not willing to take no for an answer.
In spite of my better judgment I can’t stop thinking about the way his designer suits fit his muscular frame, or the way his blue eyes seem to eat me up with every glance.
You know when you’re on a diet and even hummus seems irresistible? Reed is like the equivalent of chocolate éclair and my willpower is fading fast.
The problem? Not only is he a lawyer…
He was the best man at my wedding.

About Piper Rayne

PiperRaynePiper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two USA Today Bestselling authors for the price of one. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.

Oh my gosh - where have I been that I haven't gotten to read the newish duo of Piper Rayne before now? I have been an Elisabeth Grace fan for a while, but I love her new partnership too!
Victoria is a single mom who moves back to her home town of Chicago after discovering that her mother has a progressive illness. Not long after returning, she runs into Reed - a former friend of her ex husband.
Victoria was a character that was easy to relate to and like. Her spunky independence helps balance the jaded attitude that came from leaving a bad marriage behind her. Reed is a character that almost boarders on too good to be true. He has just enough flaws to be believable, especially as we get to know the back story of his friendship with Victoria's ex later in the book. I especially liked these two together and how they balanced responsibilities with getting to know each other. A great secondary cast helps round things out; I especially loved the mean moms!
Well written and entertaining, Manic Monday is a great introduction to a new series and I am looking forward to seeing the stories coming for some of the secondary characters. There is a prequel to Manic Monday, Clean Slate, that is free at the time of writing this review. While it's not required reading, it does help show a little bit of the background between Victoria and Pete (the ex) that helps some of their interactions make a little more sense. I may be late to the game, but I am so glad I found this duo.
