Can I be brutally honest for a minute? There is absolutely no reason for the Write Love/Wright One story to be a duet. Both books are very short, about 75% of what I expect a full length stand alone work to be. These books could have easily been combined, edited correctly, and published as one book.
Having said that, I also have to confess to also being frustrated with the conclusion to Sutton and David's story. The emotional yo-yo that started in the Wright Love continues here. While Sutton's feelings are completely understandable, the elaboration of them here starts to make it feel a little like beating a dead horse instead of exploring the emotional impact of events.
I think the thing that frustrated me the most in this entertaining book is that Ms. Linde laid the groundwork for multiple potential conflicts that could have really made the duet concept work, but instead of exploring them they were brushed under the rug.
I like Sutton and David and was rooting for them to get their happy ending. I feel like this duet started strong in the Wright Love, exploring the concepts of moving beyond grief and finding love again. With the direction that The Wright One went, I really do feel like they books would have been stronger if packaged as one slightly longer story.
