Ross Blackthorne likes his cars fast and his women faster. As the third son, he’s accustomed to living his life without the pressure to succeed that his older brothers face. But when he crashes his race car during a public event, his father decides enough is enough. It’s time for Ross to step up and join the family business.
Holly Brooks has her hands full running operations at the Blackthorne Distillery in Lexington, Kentucky. The last thing she needs is to babysit an unrepentant playboy who doesn’t have any interest in learning what it takes to make world-class bourbon. Ross only intends to stay for as long as it takes to convince his father he’s better suited to driving fast—but working in close proximity to Holly is more interesting than he expected. Can daredevil Ross convince good girl Holly that he’s worth the risk? Or is their budding relationship doomed to crash and burn?

Elizabeth's Review
3.5 Stars - Worth a Reader's Time
Review Copy Provided by Author
This is the 3rd book for the Blackthorne cousins/brothers - this time focusing on Ross. Ross is the third family member we’ve met involved in the family brand, but not the family business. We have seen glimpses of Ross in the first two books, but this is our first opportunity to get to know him.
Circumstances (and meddling fathers) have Ross reporting for duty at the family’s production facility in Kentucky where he meets Holly Brooks.
I liked both Ross and Holly and enjoyed their interactions. It was especially fun to see Ross change Holly’s opinion of him and begin to create a friendship/romance.
As with the first two installments of this series, my big complaint is the length of the book. So far, all three books have been very short. That means that we don’t get to know the characters as well as I would like and that the plot/conflict have places that seem rushed or not fully developed.
Even with wishing the book was longer I enjoyed Ross and am looking forward to seeing what happens with the rest of the Blackthorne crew.
