Jasper Vale returns us to the Eden family of Quincy, Montana for the story of Eloise Eden. Eloise is paired with Jasper - a friend of her brother-in-law- and a mysterious secondary character we’ve met in the series before.
As this is the 4th book in the Eden’s saga, we’ve seen Eloise before. These books are sequential, so we’ve seen her mature and grow up a little bit too. I loved the meet cute for these two - they’d been each others orbits, but when they finally came together it was unexpected and fun.
Ms Perry did a wonderful job pulling these two together as they tried to pull themselves apart. Eloise and Jasper each grew emotionally throughout the story and these evolutions had me liking them even more and rooting for them to find a happy ending.
The Eden family made for a fabulous secondary cast. If you have been following the series, you’ll be glad to see some character updates. Part of the wonderful story telling here is the way this large family (some of whom have stories still to tell) are woven organically into the Eloise and Jasper story.
This installment of the Eden’s was a lovely visit and I can’t wait to come back!
