Distracting, sexy, and British, Liam Parker offered Laurie exactly what she needed when she was desperate for attention.
One night of pleasure.
She wanted it.
She craved it.
She took it.
And when the sunlight dawned and the lusty haze of one night of passion disappeared and reality revealed itself…
Laurie returned home knowing that everything she had once believed, everything she had once loved and desired, was about to be tossed upside down and shaken in a way she could never imagine.
EMBRACE (The Affair, #2)
Liam Parker crash landed into Laurie’s life when everything else was crumbling all around her. Her marriage and career were in pieces and her mind was left spinning.
But one touch from Liam, and Laurie could forget everything else around her.
She thought she had it all figured out.
As Laurie lost herself in Liam’s warm caresses and his commanding blue eyes, her husband refused to go quietly into the night. While Laurie fought to move on, it was James who was working his way back into her life, fighting for the marriage they had once held dear.
Forced to make choices she never imagined having to make, Laurie finally found herself on firm footing, knowing which way she was going to turn.
But then life threw her another curveball. And when she once again began picking up the pieces, learning how to survive and rebuild after everything exploded, there was only one man still there, one man who remained by her side, showing her that sometimes life isn’t about learning how to survive…
It’s about learning how to thrive.

When I first started this book, it didn’t seem all that
different from others I’ve read. Wealthy man sees something he wants and he
makes it happen – and to be honest, there is an element of that here, but there
is also love and history to make the story interesting.
Talia and Donovan dated in college, his father died and he
disappeared only to reappear 8 years later needing her help. I really didn’t
like Donovan at first. He was egotistical and cold and I could understand why
his nephew resisted him. Early on, Talia was more personable and it was easier
to understand her motives if not support her actions.
Enflame follows the frenemies to lover’s path. Donovan never comes across as warm and fuzzy,
but you do get to see a softer side that makes him much more likeable. I
appreciated how he finally opened up and explained to Talia what happened in
the past and then stood up for her and their relationship in the present.
I enjoyed Enflame, but honestly felt that it was a little on
the long side for the story being told. One element of the story, that I felt
was a little overdone was the sexy time. The point was made early on that these
two can’t keep their hands off of each other, so the multitude of sex scenes
seemed to be over kill. Some of the ways Donovan talked to Talia while they
were intimate also came across as overly harsh and I could understand why she
didn’t know where she stood with him emotionally. The sexy time thing is a
matter of taste, but I felt there was a little too much where it didn’t really serve
the story.
