We are so excited to welcome Jules Barnard to our Meet the Author feature. Everybody stop in to say hello... Make sure to go all the way to the end of our interview, Jules was kind enough to include a teaser for her latest book, Fates Divided.
Published work (Titles or series info )
In the contemporary Blue Series, I have four titles out: Deep Blue, Blue Crush, True Blue, and Blue Streak: A Blue Series Novella. (Deep Blue is currently FREE - Click HERE)
In the brand new Halven Rising Series, which is romantic fantasy, I just released Fates Divided. What are you working on now?
New Blue, the last book in the Blue Series.Do you get to write full time or do you also have a “day” job?
Full time, but I also take care of my kids in the afternoon. My husband helps out on the weekends so I can catch up on writing.Favorite part of being an author?
Creating worlds I fall in love with and don’t have to leave if I don’t want to. I can continue the world with another book, or even create a spin off world if I want. But the best part of storytelling is when readers fall in love with the books too. If readers are excited for the next in the series, it makes writing the book that much more exciting.Scariest part of being an author?
Oh man, putting a brand new book out there, hands down. That sort of contradicts my last answer, but it’s always terrifying waiting for the first rush of early reviews. I want to hide under the covers until it’s all over, haha!Who are your favorites to read?
So many to choose from! I have favorites in paranormal, romantic fantasy, contemporary, literary fiction, and historical romance, which is a pretty wide spread. But I’ll rattle off a few you may have heard of: Richelle Mead, Jane Austin, Karen Chance, Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Lisa Kleypas. If you had $1 million to giveaway, what would you do with the money?
I would probably donate it to school programs. It freaks me out that our public schools have so few resources. The next generation will be running things, and I want those people educated. If you had one super power, what would it be?
I don’t know if this is technically considered a superpower (unless you’re Edward from Twilight), but I would love it if I didn’t need sleep. That would make my life so much easier! One piece of advice to an aspiring writer?
Finish the book, then start the next one. We become better storytellers with each novel.Where can we find you?
