This is a book that I honestly read more out of curiosity than anything else. I was a little ambivalent after reading the first book in the Tempting series and wanted to see where the author would go next.
Leo and Scarlet were a refreshing change of pace after the angst in book one. I enjoyed the college age, odd couple, enemies to lovers story line.
My biggest complaint about Tempting was that the relationship building wasn't there. Ms. Lucian fixed that in Beguiling and we were able to see Leo and Scarlet form a relationship that was more than just a series of sexual encounters.
My issue with this book, the thing that kept it from being a 3.5 star rated book or higher, was that the "enemy" part of the equation was never really addressed. At one point, Scarlet talks about why she and Leo went from being friends to not in high school, but they never really addressed the issue with each other.
This was a fun read and stands alone from Book one in the series. I'm not done with Ms. Lucian yet. I haven't had my socks knocked off yet, but it's exciting to see the growth from Tempting #1 to Tempting #2 and I am curious to see where #3 takes us.
