In Never Got Over You, SL Scott introduced us to a great group of characters made up of friends and the friends that are the family we choose. In Crazy In Love, the story focuses on the best friends we've met before - Tatum and Harrison. These two met the same night Nick and Natalie (the couple in Never Got Over You) met, but much like Nick and Natalie, the timing wasn't meant to be.
Fast forward several years and we have a chance to get to know these two a little better. Tatum is a character that I really just wanted to wrap up in a hug. She has such a tough shell, but the soft gooey center makes it impossible not to like her and root for her to get out of her own way. Harrison is the definition of a good guy. He was a great offset to Tatum and I appreciated how he was willing to learn about her and work around her issues.
Ms Scott walked a fine line with these two. There is a yo yo effect that could have very easily crossed into annoying, but her strength as a story teller made sure that each swing helped propel some part of the story forward. I truly enjoyed seeing these two try to figure out where the future was taking them.
This is a stand alone book - Tatum and Harrison's story is very much it's own tale, but loyal Scott readers will be glad to see previous main characters appear to get updates on where they are now. We also get a few glimpses of the Decker siblings and I wonder if maybe there are hints for future books?

If you enjoyed the 90s Meg Ryan movie, You’ve Got Mail, you will love the updated take in To Sir With Love.
Ms Layne does an excellent job of crafting likeable characters with Gracie and Sebastian plus an entertaining supporting cast. It was a pleasure to watch things evolve from Gracie’s point of view.
Full of good life lessons, Gracie shows us the importance of being true to yourself and that sometimes to get the ending you want, you have to take control of your story.

Are you ready to meet a new group of strong historical heroines and the men who win their hearts? Duke in Time is the first book of a new series and introduces us the widows of Lord Meriweather.
This book installment focuses on Katherine (Kat) and her interactions with Christian, the elder brother of her former husband.
I enjoyed watching these two together as they navigated the many hurdles thrown in their way by Meri and the way he handles his affairs. The secondary cast was also interesting and the author did an excellent job of world building while also letting the relationship between our main characters grow. I am looking forward to seeing what comes next!
