In Trouble, Tia Louise takes us back to South Carolina with Joselyn (a previously seen secondary character) as she tries to figure her life out. Spencer is her unlikely love interest/reluctant knight in shining armor.

I liked both of these characters and watching them try to figure out what they are looking for out of life. Joselyn is struggling a bit with previous bad choices, but I still appreciated her strong stance on what she considered right. Spencer had a much larger emotional evolution and it was entertaining to watch him fight that process.

Ms Louise crafted an excellent dynamic for these two characters and the story was a bit unexpected. This story is connected to previous books, but is definitely a stand alone read. If you are a loyal Louise follower, you will be excited to see what several previous main characters are up to now. Don’t worry if you aren’t caught up yet, you don’t need to read the previous stories to appreciate Sly and her Mr Freeze.
