If you are looking super quick, fun read then this would be a good pick.
You are probably looking at my 3 star rating and asking why if it’s only 3 Stars, how can I recommend you read the book?
Well - the rating has more to do with the length of the book than anything else. I like Quinn and Alessandra and loved how they met, but because it’s such a short work, there was no time to get to know them. We get to know Quinn’s family a little bit, but I get the impression that’s more because this series focuses on the heros (guessing here because I haven’t read the others). We learn almost nothing about Alessandra before meeting her here.
And because our knowledge of the characters is on the surface, it’s hard to fully invest in their relationship. The age difference between the two doesn’t bother me, nor does the instant attraction, but I question how fast things moved.
This is a book where I really wish it had been longer. There are facets to this couple that I would have loved to have seen explored on their way to a happy ending.
