Handle With Care by Nina Croft ~ New Release and Review

HWC_RELEASE BLITZ

“Heat, heart and plenty of happy sighs.”

-- Avery Flynn, USA Today bestselling author

Handle with Care, an all-new sexy and emotional second chance romance from Nina Croft is LIVE!

2018-0682 Nina Croft b01
Synopsis
What if all you want is the one thing you can’t have?
First grade teacher Emily Towson always does the right thing. The sensible thing. But in her dreams, she does bad, bad things with the town’s baddest boy: Tanner O’Connor. But when he sells her grandmother a Harley, fantasy is about to meet a dose of reality.
And then he goes and calls her “sensible”...
Tanner can’t believe sweet Emily is standing in his shop. Yelling and waving her hands and looking so god damn sexy he’s having trouble focusing. He’d spent two hard years in prison, with only the thought of this “good girl” to keep him sane.
He really should send her away...
Before either one thinks though, they’re naked and making memories on his tool bench with apparently the oldest condom in history. Now Tanner’s managed to knock-up the town’s “good girl” and she’s going to lose her job over some stupid “morality clause” if he doesn’t step up.
But can this bad boy teach his good girl they’re perfect for each other in time?

About Nina:
Growing up in the cold, wet, north of England, Nina Croft spent a lot of time huddled under the blankets dreaming of faraway sunnier places and ponies. When she discovered both could be found between the covers of a book, her life changed forever. At the age of eighteen, in an attempt to turn dreams into reality, she headed south in search of the sun. She quickly picked up the perfect husband along the way, and developed a taste for red wine and holidays in warm places. Soon holidays weren’t enough, and together they volunteered to work in Africa where they both discovered a love of traveling and a dislike of 9-5 work. Afterward they spent a number of years travelling (whenever possible) intermingled with working (whenever the money ran out.) Eventually they stumbled upon a remote area in the mountains of southern Spain where they bought the small almond farm they now call home. No electricity, no neighbors, no chocolate shops, but on the plus side, stunning scenery, a vineyard to make her own red wine, and far enough away from anywhere to satisfy Nina’s hermit tendencies. She shares the farm with her husband, and an ever increasing number of animals, including Piggles, a three-legged Vietnamese pot-bellied pig. Nina now spends her days riding her mare Gencianna under the blue Spanish skies—sunshine and ponies. She reckons this is proof that dreams really can come true if you want them enough. She still travels, but usually only in her imagination, and can often be found lying under a fig tree, wine in hand, plotting stories of love in faraway places. Nina believes love can come to anyone, anytime, anywhere and her books reflect
this.

Elizabeth's Review

3.5 Stars - Worth a Reader's Time

Review Copy Provided by Publisher via Net Galley

This was a strong start to a new series with good characters and excellent world building.
Ms. Croft has created two strong leads in Emily and Tanner along with an entertaining secondary cast. The various subplots were handled well, creating curiosity about where the series will go next, but still feeling complete for this book.
I genuinely liked Emily and Tanner and rooted for them to get out of their own way. I appreciated the emotional growth they both experienced and some of the humor that went along with getting them there.
Saddlers Cove is a character unto itself and the towns people had a great impact on the story.
I haven’t read much by Ms Croft, but after reading this series starter, I definitely want to read more.

Until We Are Gone, an all-new Standalone Emotional Romance by Gia Riley is NOW LIVE!!

I wanted a family with Cash.

We had dreams –building a house, kids, a dog, and, yes, even the white picket fence.

Or so I’m told.

I don’t remember anything about my husband. Not the wedding or the vows we shared.

The past ten years were erased and with time, they’re supposed to come back.

But this isn’t your typical case of amnesia

What if I’m not supposed to remember?

What if I was meant to forget?

Maybe I don’t want my old life back.

Because if the accident hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t have uncovered the truth.

Losing my memory wasn’t tragic.

Losing my memory was fate.

Does “wow” count as a review?
No - you don’t like that? Okay, I will try to do better, but it’s going to be hard because I don’t really know where to start.
Let’s start with a PSA - if you are looking for a light hearted, feel good story that all sunshine and rainbows. Stop now, but the book down.
If you are looking for something that is fantastically written, with twists and turns, that makes your heart pound then keep truckin’ my friend because Until We Are Gone delivers.
In terms of characters, Meadow, Cash, and Nolan are all superb. I didn’t always like them or their actions, but I sympathized and empathized. Their feelings radiated off the page and they kept me curious about what would happen next.
As for the plot - my lips are sealed! Well, not really. I will tell you that this story went somewhere I didn’t expect, but did so with a great deal of grace. The twists and turns of the plot also resulted in seriously changing my point of view regarding two of the main characters. A halo slipped and another character was redeemed.
The ending of the book also had me very curious about the “before.” What were the actions that created the scenario that Meadow, Cash, and Nolan found themselves in? What about Teddy? I finished Until We Are Gone both satisfied and intensely curious and that to me is the sign of one awesome book!

And a girl who shows him the greatest, most complex code he could ever write.
Love.

“What’s up?”

He swallowed, meeting my eyes. “So Bentley asked me to come and talk to you.”
“About?”
“You, ah, well…”
My stomach fell. “Are you firing me?”
“No. Absolutely not,” he responded vehemently. “Not a chance.”
I relaxed somewhat. “Okay, what’s up?”
He lost it, and bent forward, burying his face in his hands, his shoulders shaking with laughter.
I stared at him, unsure what the hell was so funny.
He leaned back, wiping his face. “Reid, dude. You need to get out of this office. Get some sleep. You were here all night again, weren’t you?”
“Yeah. Why?”
He began to chuckle again. “Maddox and I were meeting with Bent. We all got a notice about a new checklist.”
I glanced at my screen with a frown. “I wasn’t finished with Bentley’s file—I didn’t send…” My voice trailed off as realization hit me. “Oh, holy fuck.”
“As much as we appreciate being kept in the loop on your personal endeavors, Bent really doesn’t want to know about your plans to have Becca punch your V-card.”

Excerpt

Stella Lilith used to have an adventurous side, but I think it’s been a while since she broke a few rules. “Will you climb out first?”

There’s my girl. “Yep.” I press down on the sink, hoping it doesn’t fall off the wall. It looks old, so I’m not sure it can hold my weight. But it’s getting louder in the hall, so I climb up, grabbing an exposed pipe above the window, and maneuver my legs through the opening. Good thing we’re on the ground level. Pushing off, I land on my feet in the alley and turn around. “Stella?”

She peeks out and by the way her lips are twisted and her eyes are looking at the cement, she’s nervous. “I don’t want to fall.”

“I’d never let you. Not to the ground anyhow.”

For a second, she looks confused, but her brow relaxes and a small smile appears. “You’ll catch me?”

“Every time.”

She disappears, and I can hear her climbing onto the sink. Her legs slide out the window until her ass rests on the metal sill. “Ready for me, Rivers?”

“All my life.”

“For real,” she says, her nerves causing a slight shake to her tone. “You’re going to catch me, right?”

“Always.” I take her by the ass, and say, “Put your legs over my shoulders.”

“What? No.”

“Yes. I’ve got you. Then all I have to do is back up as you slip out.”

“I’m not as light as I used to be. Are you sure you can handle me?”

I work my way under her so her legs are over my shoulders. “Don’t worry about me, baby. I can handle you all right.”

Her thighs squeeze my neck. I like to think it was the name I slipped in there, but it’s probably because she’s anxious to do this. She slips out a little more, and our eyes meet. “You’re sure you’re ready?”

“All you have to do is let go. I have you.”

Releasing the pipe, she ducks her head to the side while I support her back with my hands, holding her until she clears the glass. Helping her upright, my face is against the jeans that cover her vagina and she’s squeezing my head with her legs so tight I don’t know if I’m going to live. What a sweet fucking way to die.

Oh my heart! I have loved each of the Crow Brothers books, but I think Rivers' might be my favorite. It’s definitely the most emotional of the three books.
As the third book in the series, we’ve gotten to know Rivers and understood that there was something lurking for him. I was nice to see him face that head on and see the truly genuine heart ❤️ he was hiding.
I loved Stella as a heroine even when my heart hurt for what she was going through.
Well written, this is a fantastic balance between romance, intrigue, family, and forgiveness. There are glimpses of Jet and Tulsa (and their other halves), but this is 100% Rivers and Stella’s story. The additional back story from the other books is helpful, but this could be read as a standalone.
I truly appreciate how Ms Scott has crafted this book. Not only does she give glimpses of prior characters, we get to see future leads as well without it detracting from this story - that is an art she has mastered.
As much as I think Rivers might be my favorite, I’m really glad we get one more visit with the brothers when Ridge’s book comes out!

Just when you think you know an author, they go and mix it up on you! I think Coalescence is the most overtly sexy book that Ms. Hannigan has written and for Gwen and Alaric it really works.

I am a self confessed fan of Ms Hannigan and when it came to reviewing this book, she's a little bit of a victim of her own success. I really liked this book, but didn't get quiet the same level of emotional impact that I am used to from a Hannigan book. Yes, I like it when she twists me up before making it work and I missed that here a little bit.

Gwen and Alaric are both interesting characters that are easy to like and relate to. I like them separately and found myself liking them together. In Coalescence, we are taken right to the edge of too much sexy time, but there is enough true relationship building that we don't cross that line.
There are hints of angst and conflict, but most of that is internal to the individual characters and they seem to be able to reign it in before things blow up. I do wish some of the external conflicts hinted at had been explored a little bit more, but am okay letting my imagination work too.

Overall, this a good read showing how even the most awkward of beginnings can work when it's the right person.

J.C. Hannigan lives in Ontario, Canada with her husband, their two sons, and their dog. She writes contemporary new adult romance and suspense. Her novels focus on relationships, mental health, social issues, and other life challenges.
