This was a fun introduction to a new series from Corinne Michaels!
Tristan and Lark come from feuding families in a small Colorado town. Both come with baggage, but it makes them work so well in the end.
As the first book in a series, West of Forever does a lot of heavy lifting. There is significant world-building as we meet the Stone and Gaitlain families as well as the friends surrounding them. Ms Michaels does an excellent job of balancing the world-building with the story surrounding Tristan and Lark.
I found myself liking and appreciating both characters. I do wish Lark had a bit more development, as she felt a little one-dimensional compared to Tristan. It may have been that we spent just a little more time seeing the story from his point of view, but I did feel like I knew him and the Stone family just a little bit better.
West of Forever is a little bit less angsty than a typical Michaels book, but there is just enough to make it ring true. I am curious to see what is in store for the Stone sisters and Gaitlain brothers!

This is one of those books that makes you not like real life - mainly because real life kept me from spending time with Tucker and Hazel!
Tucker is the youngest Colburn brother and we have seen glimpses of him (and Hazel) in the first two books of the series. Because this is the third book of the series, I suggest reading in order. Some of the heavier lifting for world building happens in the earlier books. New readers can definitely enjoy this read, but the added context is definitely helpful.
Tucker and Hazel come into the story with history and roadblocks to navigate. It was entertaining to see them navigate the old memories and learn to work around the new pitfalls. Add in an excellent secondary cast and this is a strong addition to the Shalvis library.
For readers who have followed with series, there are great character updates and hints and what may be next.

I feel terrible because it took me forever to read this fun book. (Life has just made reading hard).
Sawyer and Chloe are a fun couple to get to know with a great meet cute. Both come with baggage that keeps tripping them up, but I appreciated the way they grew from coworkers to friends to more.
This is a stand alone set in Darling Springs and there is a lot of crossover in terms of secondary characters. I truly enjoy this series - I just wish life would slow down and give me more reading time!
