The perfect man for her is the one she hates most. #gofigure
Dating is hard.
Dating in your thirties is even harder.
Dating in Chicago is harder still.
I haven't given up on finding my happily-ever-after, but in the age of swiping right and Netflix and chill, I'm wondering if everything is as temporary as my marriage turned out to be.
Truth is, there is one guy I can't get my mind off of.
Roarke Baldwin has salt and pepper hair I've dreamed of running my hands through and I'm pretty sure that if I checked he really does have a six pack of abs underneath his suit. And I've always wondered what that stubble on his face would feel like between my thighs.
The problem? He's the one man I hate more than my ex-husband…
His divorce attorney.

This was a fun and entertaining conclusion to the Charity Case trilogy. This is an interconnected stand-alone. As such, it can easily be read on its own, but is much richer if you have read the previous two books.

I liked Hannah and Roarke’s transition from “enemies” to lovers. They are a classic example of “the lady doth protest too much.” I also really appreciated his slightly unorthodox approach to showing her the man behind the profession. As much as I enjoyed the book, I did have a few complaints. Some of them are personal preference, so I won’t dive into them here.

I had 2 issues that were a bit bigger: 1) the conflict seemed a bit manufactured. It played well to Hannah’s history and experience, but it undermined the strong character she seemed to be earlier in the book. 2) the epilogue was a little jumbled. There were characters from the previous series present and they just seemed dropped in. There was also a big focus on launching the next books vs wrapping up this story.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this book and series. The secondary cast is very active, which is nice if you have read the entire series and want to know how the couples are doing. 1 like
