Cloverleigh Farms generation 2 starts with a bang as we meet the grown up version of Winnie (Mack’s youngest) and her grumpy neighbor Dex.

If you’ve read the first set of Cloverleigh books, there are some similarities between this story and Mack &
Frannie’s, but don’t think this is a repeat, it’s not!

I genuinely liked Winnie and Dex. They both come with baggage, but she is much more set aware even though she is significantly younger. It was fun watching Dex work through his issues, especially when his daughters decided to help things along.

As this is a generation 2 book, there is a lot of crossover to the original cast of characters. If you have read the first set of books, you will be glad to see where everyone is now. If you are new to the series, be prepared for a larger secondary cast, but they are not distracting from the key story. I am curious to see if there will be more generation 2 books!

Review Copy Purchased as a "free" read

Ms Arend is an author I’ve read and enjoyed before, so when this popped up a free read in her newsletter, I grabbed it.

James and Kaylee made for a great, quick read. There is just enough back story to appreciate what’s going on, but not a lot to get bogged down in. My one “complaint” about this book is that there are several points where I would have liked to have a little more detail behind what was going on.

Overall, this read fit my mood today. I wanted light and this delivered. I am curious to see what happens with James’ brothers.

This is my third Jamison Valley book in just a couple of weeks (yay for catching up on TBR reads!) and I’m so glad I joined Felicity and Silas for their story!

After meeting Felicity earlier in the series, I wasn’t sure I was going to like her in the romantic heroine role. Ms Perry did an excellent job of peeling back Felicity’s layer and letting us see what was behind her feelings and struggles. Her personal/emotional growth was refreshing and had me rooting for her to find happiness.

Silas is a character I’ve enjoyed meeting before and it was a pleasure to get to know him better here.

This is a layered story that tackles several different issues. The approach worked well here and the various threads came together in such a way to keep the story moving. I am definitely curious to see what happens to Sabrina (a secondary character introduced here) in The Outpost.

A sexy standalone in the fan-favorite Lost Harbor, Alaska series

After a heartbreaking loss, Lulu Spencer-Bennington is on a mission to live her life to the fullest. Dancing her way around the world on a cruise ship is a great start. So maybe he doesn’t quite know what he’s in for…but Lulu’s hoping to be out of town before he finds out.

Tristan Del Rey has always been a natural leader—but a recent fishing accident has sent his confidence reeling. He’s no hero, no matter what his fellow Lost Harbor fishermen think. Even so, he can’t turn away the funny, feisty dancer he finds on his boat. He’s determined to protect her no matter what it costs him. As for anything more personal, the best he can offer is some temporary fun. That doesn’t stop the luscious, long-legged Lulu from high-kicking him right in the heart.

Elizabeth's Review

3.5 stars - Worth a Reader's Time

First Kiss Before Frost is a cute addition to the Lost Harbor series. This stand alone read features fishing captain, Tristan, and stow away/dancer, Lulu.

The story line here is layered. There is intrigue, a dash of romance, and a big heap of personal reflection/development. After a bit of a slow start, I enjoyed how things played out for both Tristan and Lulu. I appreciated the time they spent getting to know one other and truly develop a bond.

From a character standpoint, these two were both interesting. They came together when both were wounded in different ways, but still managed to be likeable and people that I found myself rooting for to figure things out.

This is very much part of a series and as such has a fairy large supporting cast. Ms Bernard does a good job of balancing the central Tristan/Lulu storyline with keeping loyal readers up to date on activities in the larger Lost Harbor world. If you have been reading from the beginning, you will see familiar names and be glad to catch up with friends. If you are new to Lost Harbor (or an occasional visitor like me) there are just enough references to other people that I am curious to read the books I’ve missed!

Resolution ~ Adriana Locke ~ Cover Reveal

Title: Resolution
Author: Adriana Locke
Cover Designer: Kari March
Release Date: December 10th
Preorder: https://amzn.to/3kKR8OZ

Synopsis:

From USA Today Bestselling author Adriana Locke comes a workplace romance between a grumpy, alpha architect and his new client—who just so happens to have the blueprint to bring him to his knees.

Romance is not in Wade Mason’s portfolio.

This is tragic. It’s unfair that a man so maddeningly gorgeous—an architect with a deliciously squarish jaw, adorably dimpled chin, and the hottest black glasses that straddle the line between professional and provocative—rebukes all things love.

I knew this well before I walked into his office.

The man is a conundrum—a complicated, steel-wall of a puzzle. On one hand, he brushes against me in the conference room with a broodiness that sets me on fire. He demands in-person meetings nearly every day about the house we’re working on together. I catch him watching me out of the corner of his eye with a look that’s anything but platonic. But any talk of hook-ups, love, or relationships—even in general? Completely off the table.

I’m determined to peel back his layers until I get to the bottom of the mysterious businessman. But my plan is foiled by a surprise that leaves both of us reeling. Neither of us see it coming but it changes everything … forever.

The Sky In Summer (Lyon Family #4)The Sky In Summer by Leslie Pike

My rating: 4 of 5 stars - Worth a Reader's Time

Review Copy Provided by Author

We have met the Lyon family periodically and have seen the siblings support each other over the years. In this installment, we get to spend time with youngest brother, Van.
Van, Layla, and their supporting cast were all fun to get to know. I enjoyed the evolutions of the characters, even when I found myself shaking my head at the obliviousness they were dealing with.
While the books in this series are technically stand alones, they work much better if read in order as the books build on each other. After seeing winter, spring, and summer - I am very curious to see what Fall has to bring with the story of the final Lyon sibling, Aragon.

The Clash of Yesterday (Chronicles of the Stone Veil #0.5)The Clash of Yesterday by Sawyer Bennett

Having read the Chronicles of the Stone Veil, this was a fun novella to read. Eliana and Ronan are not characters that you are in the full Chronicles, but the time lines coincide.
This was a quick and entertaining glimpse in the the world of the Light Fae and I would be very curious to see more little glimpses like this into this world.

This is a book that has been on my TBR for a while as Ms Perry was pretty much done publishing this series by the time I discovered her as an author.
What was I waiting for?

The Coppersmith Farmhouse introduces to not only Gigi and her daughter, Rowen, but the town of Prescott as well.
I enjoyed the small town feel and getting to know Georgia and Roe. The mother/daughter trio was paired with town Sheriff, Jess. He was a character I wasn’t sure I liked at first, but he grew on me!

With a good balance of world building, intrigue, and romance this is a book that pulled me in and made it hard to put down. I am curious to see what happens next in the valley!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars - Worth a Reader's Time

I am catching up on Devney Perry's back list and loved the first Jamison Valley book, so of course I jumped right into book 2.

Nick was a character I remember meeting in The Coppersmith Farmhouse, but I will be honest and say he didn't make a huge impression. My jaw about hit the floor when I realized who he was and just who his family (secondary characters here) is..... Let's just saw it was a good surpsise!

I enjoyed getting to know Nick and Emmeline (Emmy) here. Their meet cute and reconnection were both awesome and they were entertaining characters that I couldn't help but root for. Ms Perry did a great job of balancing the romantic and intrique story lines so that everything felt fresh and there were definite twists I didn't see coming.

The Clover Chapel is a stand alone read, but it is sequential in timing to the first book in the series. If you don't mind spoilers, you could easily start here, but there are references that will make more sense if you read the series in order. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what happens next in the valley!
