Oh my - with a title like Broken Dreams, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Ms Michaels (she’s been known to deliver doozies). But, this ended up being a heartwarming story of second chances.

Addison and Grady are characters that we’ve met before, but this gave us a chance to see them in a new light as they both worked to move on from tragedy. This also blended the worlds of Rose Canyon and Sugarloaf and brought a large number of previous main characters into the mix in secondary roles.

Ms Michaels did an excellent job of blending these two worlds and letting us see where everyone is now without overpowering the story between Addison and Grady. I want to keep this spoiler-free, but I will say that this is an excellent and powerful presentation for anyone who believes in second chances.

This was a fun "escape" type read set in a wonderful location.
I enjoyed Ruby, Jake, and their adventures together. I appreciated that while they had bumps in the road, they both had the emotional intelligence to work together and smooth things out.
This was originally written as a duet but edited and packaged into a new format. The revised story is smooth and works well. It's another winner for Ms Blakely.

In Flame, Ms Locke wraps up the "world" of the Carmichael family with the story of the elusive Foxx. He has been the mystery older brother throughout the series, and getting to know him better here was fun. The Carmichaels' world crosses paths with that of the Brewers' - a family we recently met - as Foxx's heroine is the Brewer's sister Bianca.

This is a slow-burn story even though the tension radiates off the page from the very beginning. Bianca is a solid female lead who counterbalances Foxx's alpha male well. I also appreciated the fact that he became a softer version of himself as their story unfolded. The fact that Foxx was also her safe place made the emotional impact of the story that much greater.

As with most of Locke's books, family plays a key role here in the secondary cast. We see them add intrigue, humor, and support as Foxx and Bianca navigate the situations they find themselves in. While I am sad to see the Carmichaels' stories conclude, I am excited to see what may be in store for us next. Plus, with the way the various world's of Ms Locke's intersect, I am thinking we may have Carmichael cameos soon!

Welcome back to Cherry Tree Harbor and the Buckley brothers. We’ve met Devlin before, but we really get to know him here. He is paired with Lexi, the granddaughter standing between him and a big business deal.

The premise here is fun! From the meet spicy to the wide range of roles that these two play with each other, they truly were a couple that I enjoyed spending time with.

Ms Harlow crafted a story to was entertaining and emotional as we saw Lexi and Devlin go after the practical things they wanted and discover the things they didn’t know they needed. Fans of Ms Harlow will see secondary characters they recognize, but don’t worry this is very much a stand alone. After meeting both Xander and Devlin, I can’t wait to spend more time with the rest of the Buckley family!
