Nobel Prince by Devney Perry ~ Blog Tour

Noble Prince by Devney Perry is now live!

The night Luke Rosen met Scarlett Marks was the only time he's regretted becoming chief of police. One horrific night of blood and death, and now she's living under his roof--all because he swore an oath to serve and protect.
Scarlett is stubborn and infuriating. She has no respect for the order in his structured life, and she never does anything she's told. Worse, she doesn't seem to care that the information she has on a motorcycle gang means she might end up dead. But her unwavering strength, her courage and tenacity and beauty, makes it impossible for him to abandon her.
If Luke is going to keep her safe, he'll have to make the hardest decision of his life. He can either honor his values as a cop, knowing Scarlett is unlikely to survive . . . or he can break all the rules and protect the woman who's invaded his home and his heart.

Excerpt

“If you’re not going to get out of the way, I’ll just go around.” I spun on my shoes, whirling the opposite direction, but when I went to take a step and carry my basket away, I suddenly found its weight missing from my arm. He’d stolen it from me before I’d had the chance to clutch it tight.

Then the world was spinning. The floors, the ceiling, everything flipped topsy-turvy.

I’d fainted.

No, that wasn’t right.

I was being carried. Hauled. That had been Luke’s threat and damn it, I’d underestimated him. The chief had made good on his word.

His shoulder dug into my belly as he walked. I lifted my face, pushing the hair out of my eyes. My basket of food sat exactly where I’d been standing. My chicken and rolls and cookies and chocolate milk. The items grew smaller with every one of Luke’s strides.

“Put me down.”

He kept walking.

“Put me down!” I shouted.

Still, he kept walking.

I lifted a hand and raised it above my head. My hair kept falling in front of my face, obscuring my vision, but that didn’t stop me from using every ounce of strength I had left. I brought my fist down on Luke’s lower back. Except my aim was shit so I didn’t hit his back. No, my fist bounced off his firm, perfect ass.

Luke didn’t so much as break his stride. “I promised Presley I’d keep you safe.”

And without another word, without stopping, he carried me in a fireman’s hold out of the grocery store and into the snow.

I was going back to the daisies, whether I wanted to or not.

Hello, Scarlett. I’m rock bottom.

When I first picked up Gypsy King as a free read, all I knew about it was that it was by Devney Perry and I enjoyed other books I had read by her. Now, after reading Noble Prince (book 4) all I know is that I am hooked and can’t wait to see what happens next to the Tin Gypsy family.

The Tin Gypsy series books are all connected, so if you haven’t (at least) read Stone Princess, then Nobel Prince would not be the best place to start as events here pick up almost immediately after the conclusion of Stone Princess.

Nobel Prince fits right in with the previous Tim Gypsy books. There is an element of danger and intrigue combined with a growing romance between two people you wouldn’t automatically put together.

I genuinely liked Scarlett and Luke. I appreciated how we got to see her blossom from scared and hurt to a strong, determined force claiming her life back. Luke is the classic,
strong hero who has an incredible amount of patience in giving Scarlett the time and space she needs.

Ms Perry does an excellent job of weaving the various elements of the story together to create a book that I didn’t want to put down. We were very much in Scarlett and Luke’s shoes as they struggled with how to do the right thing. This story was one more piece of the Tin Gypsy puzzle that has me curious about the next piece!

Make Me Yours ~ Melanie Harlow ~ Cover Reveal

Make Me Yours, an all-new sexy single dad rom com from USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow is coming November 23rd and we have the hot hot hot cover!

He’s my brother’s best friend.

The hot single dad next door.

And one accidental sext later, my massive crush on him is no longer a secret.

It’s my own damn fault. I’m thirty years old, for heaven’s sake. I’m a kindergarten teacher and a (reasonably) responsible adult. I should know better than to get tipsy and draft a fake text listing all the dirty things I wish Officer Cole Mitchell would do to me.

I wasn’t supposed to hit send.

He wasn’t supposed to see it.

And he definitely wasn’t supposed to text back telling me to go on . . .

Because after that, things escalate quickly.

Cole is everything I’ve ever wanted. He’s sexy and protective. A devoted father to his little girl. A dedicated cop the whole town adores. The kind of guy you can trust to keep his hands to himself, even when you’re desperately hoping he won’t.

I’m not the girl he thought he’d end up with, but after all this time, I might finally get the chance to say the words I’ve always dreamed of . . . make me yours.

Blurb: Coy Mason is a jerk. If there is one truth that Bellamy Davenport knows, it’s that. Hands-down. (Well, that and the fact that she didn’t mean to hurt him. Physically. Coy can’t be hurt emotionally because he doesn’t have a heart.) Coy is not just the small-town, literal boy-next-door. He’s a heartbreaking, womanizing, mischief-making (and delicious) man and was all of those things well before he became a hot-shot country music sensation. He’s a dream standing in her doorway with no shirt, messy hair, and a ‘Do you wanna?’ grin. But he’s also a nightmare for her heart and she knows it. Their enemies-to-lovers relationship always ends the same way—heavy on the enemies, light on the lovers. So why is she still standing there?
About the Author: USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author Adriana Locke lives and breathes books. After years of slightly obsessive relationships with the flawed bad boys created by other authors, Adriana has created her own. She resides in the Midwest with her husband, sons, and two dogs. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee, and cooking. You can find her outside if the weather's nice and there's always a piece of candy in her pocket.

Wild Child by Audrey Carlan ~ Blog Tour

Wild Child, an all-new must-read romance that with off the walls chemistry and heart from #1 New York Times bestselling author Audrey Carlan is available now!

Twice my life changed in a single day.

The first was when I lost my parents. Hand in hand I walked with my big sister up the steps of Kerrighan House, a foster home for girls. We were lucky to be met with open arms and a house filled with children just like us. Children who’d lost everything. From that day forward, we were raised as one big family. Our bonds of sisterhood were strengthened through shared experience, pain, sacrifice, and love. Sisters not by blood, but by choice.

Soul sisters.

The second day my life changed was on the worst day of my adult life. My boyfriend broke up with me via text. My sleazy boss hit on me, forcing me to quit a job I desperately needed. And the cherry on top, was getting pulled over by an FBI Agent. Little did I know, he’d also save my life that night.

From the moment we met, Agent Fontaine wouldn’t dare let me out of his sight. And between his alpha ways, kind brown eyes, and heroism, I was lost to the man who hid behind his job. But this agent had a rule: never fall for a woman you’ve saved.

Yet I wasn’t just any woman. I was known among my sisters for taking risks and dreaming big. I was the wild child of the group. We were raised to appreciate every day as the gift it was, and not let anything stand in our way. The more I got to know the brooding, serious FBI man, the more I realized maybe it was my duty to save him.

Excerpt:

“Are you arresting me?” A deluge of tears fell down my cheeks as my chest constricted and my stomach plummeted.

“Ma’am just follow me. Closer.” He waved his non-gun-toting hand as he walked backward.

“I don’t understand. This is so crazy. I didn’t do anything wrong. I swear! It’s my car and I don’t have drugs. You can check it.”

“And I will, when you’re safely sitting in my car.”

“Oh my God! You’re arresting me!”

That’s when I lost it.

I punched my hands into my hair, tugging on the long, beachy golden waves until they were hanging off my now heated neck.

“This is unbelievable! The absolute worst day of my entire life. And my parents died in a fire! At the same time! And I had to go to foster care with my sister. And this day, oh my God. Sonia! My sister…no, Officer, you cannot arrest me. You do not understand what this will do to my sister. She’s the…”

“Ma’am! Get over here now!”  The officer grated through a super scary rumble pushing me into immediate action.

When I got closer, he latched onto my wrist and tugged me close to his body. My chest slammed against his and I placed my hands to his muscular biceps. I stared up into the darkest set of eyes I’d ever seen. Like a black cup of coffee, yet with little golden-brown flecks at the center. His skin was an olive tone, his jaw cut square, framed by cheekbones that were sharp slashes as though chiseled into fine marble. He had dark brown hair that was longer on top and shorter at the sides. If I had to guess, I’d put him in the dark Italian stallion category or Greek god.

He was beautiful.

One of his hands moved to my waist where he squeezed, and he dipped his head so close to my ear I could feel his warm breath against my cheek. “We received a report that someone crawled into the back of a blonde woman’s red old-model four-door Honda Civic at a gas station. First two letters of the license plate are A2.”

“W-what?”

“I need to check your car. Fast. If it’s not you, another woman could get hurt.”

“Oh my god! I did get gas.” I held onto his biceps so hard I may have left nail imprints.

“It’s okay, you’re safe now,” he murmured, and I closed my eyes, taking in his woodsy and fresh linens scent. It helped calm me instantly.

Until we both heard the familiar metal creaking sound against the quiet of the cool night.

I whirled around and saw a thin, tall man standing next to my car, a full ski mask covering most of his face aside from cutouts around the eyes and mouth.

Before I could do or say anything, I was grabbed around the waist and spun behind the cop as the guy in a mask lifted his arm, pointed a gun, and fired off two shots.

Audrey Carlan is an author I’ve enjoyed before, but I’ve missed several of her more recent works. I was so glad to come back to her with the beginning of her Soul Sisters series, Wild Child.

Simone is an “up by the boot straps” product of the Foster system who never seems to let anything keep her down for long. She meets FBI agent, Jonah, on the worst day of her life.

It was interesting seeing these two characters interact with each other and the large secondary cast. I found myself really liking Simone and enjoyed seeing how her relationships with her sisters influenced how she lived her life. I also liked Jonah, but as the story is told from Simone’s point of view, I don’t feel like I got to know him as well as I wanted.

There is a strong mystery element here and I appreciated how that story line played out. It was given the significance it needed, but did not overwhelm the romantic or family story lines.

I find myself very curious about the other Soul Sisters and really hope we get to see more of them in the future.
