Mia Kayla is a New Adult/Contemporary Romance writer who lives in Illinois. On the weekdays, she can be caught wearing a suit, commuting to her corporate job in downtown Chicago and raising three beautiful munchkins in the suburbs, four if you count the husband. In her free time she loves reading romance novels, jamming to boy bands, catching up on celebrity gossip and designing flowers for weddings. Have you ever been headed down a road that you knew was wrong, but everyone else said was right and you didn’t know how to make a change? That is Angie’s world when we first meet her in Unraveled.
Yes, this is a romance and the relationship between Angie and Cade is front and center, but the part of the story that really resonated with me was the piece where Angie grew up and took control of her own life.
I enjoyed getting to know both characters. Cade’s journey wasn’t as much about emotional growth as it was peeling back his layers. Angie had a much tougher path as she had to decide where happiness could be found (with her own choices or trying to please others).
The supporting cast is small, but impactful- especially their respective siblings. I am looking forward to seeing more of Cade and his Angel in the companion stories to come in the future.
