Yesterday Is Gone ~ HJ Bellus ~ New Release & Review

Title: Yesterday Is Gone
Author: HJ Bellus
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: September 11, 2018 Publisher: Limitless Publishing

They say going home is easy, and in all reality, it should be. Just not for me.

The small, one-horse town that gave me my roots, that made my soul thrive, is also the
place I never wanted to set foot in again. I left everything behind and never looked back.
Until now. With the death of the man who raised me, I’m forced to return to Boone.
Old wounds resurface, and heartache and loss trump everything once more.
Seeing the man who shattered my world the night of our high school graduation almost
brings me to my knees. Jessie, my once best friend and love of my life, ruined it all for
me…for us.
I’m back in Boone…and my secret is about to rattle the tiny town.

If second chance romances are your jam then Yesterday is Gone is one to pick up.
Jules and Jesse are former high school sweethearts and watching them reconnect was heartwarming and at times heartbreaking because old wounds have a way on trickling through to the present.
I enjoyed seeing these two figure out their past and build a present - Whit was an amazing scene stealer of a little girl.
The author does an excellent job of capturing the complications of living in a small town and trying to rebuild something. That excellence also led to one of the things I struggled with a little bit in this story. There were places where the complications and emotions the characters were going through seemed to be more than something 23/24 year olds would be dealing with. There were also times when comments and details didn’t jive with other things already established.
Ms Bellus is an author I haven’t read much of, but books like this make me want to read more of her work.
HJ Bellus is a small-town girl who loves the art of storytelling. When not making readers laugh or cry, she's a part-time livestock wrangler that can be found in the middle of Idaho, shot gunning a beer while listening to some Miranda Lambert on her Beats and rocking out in her boots.
