Oh my goodness! I don’t know where to start with the awesomeness that is Dare!

S.L Scott returns us the to Indie music scene in Austin to meet a brand new band, the Heros, starting with lead singer Dare. He is paired with a less than obvious choice for a leading lady, Weatherly. These two have a “wrong side of the track” element, but that seems to matter more to other people than it does them.

I genuinely liked pretty much everything about these two characters. They aren’t perfect, but their flaws make them more real and believable. Those flaws also give them room to grow as individuals and as a couple.

One of the things I liked most about Dare and Weatherly’s story was that Ms Scott avoided some of the typical “budding rock star” conflict routes. The conflict presented was outside of the romantic relationship and it gave our couple a great chance to work together and lean on each other.

We also see both main characters building and/or maintaining the important relationships in their lives. This was a fantastic way to incorporate a strong secondary cast that I am really hoping we see more of in the future.
