Didn’t Expect You was a book that was, well unexpected!
I have to admit that based on the blurb I knew I was getting a surprise pregnancy read, but I expected the standard “opps, now we try and see if we can do this together” book.

What I found instead was surprisingly sweet! I liked Nyx and Nate, they were interesting characters that helped peel back each other’s layers to find the best person inside. This is a second book in a series, but stands well on its own. Seeing Nyx and Nate interact with their siblings made me want to know more about the first book in the series.

If you’ve read any of the Baker’s Creek books, there will be a surprise cameo here as well - one that makes me want to know more about that series too.

Didn’t Expect You was a fun read. It was a refreshing take on a story line that’s been done a lot, but it didn’t feel that way. Add in a great secondary cast and these are characters that I hope to see more of in the future.
