Sweet Ride ~ Cathryn Fox ~ COMING RELEASE and REVIEW

Releases November 16. 2015

A sexy category romance novella from Entangled's Brazen imprint...
He'll unlock her wildest fantasies...
Private investigator Curtis Jagger has always had a thing for Alix Harris. She was the darling of their high school—gorgeous, popular, class president...and, he suspects, just as naughty as she is nice. Now Jag has the opportunity to show her what she's missing. To show her that sometimes being bad can be sexy as hell...
Alix has always done what she's supposed to, and it's gotten her exactly nowhere. Determined to please herself—in every way possible—she accepts Jag's mysterious invitation to his ranch. In front of Jag's camera lens, Alix finds freedom far beyond her expectations. A freedom where she takes the reins and rides out every wicked desire.
But in one week, Alix will have to return to her real world where politics reign. A world that can’t include Jagger, or she’ll lose everything.

Sweet Ride is a quick, fun read. It's the third in a series and while it stands alone, having read the second book helped in understanding the set up of this story. Jag and his two friends have sought out the girls that got away in high school and brought them to their dude ranch. Alix was that girl for Jag and her world came to a cross roads just when Jag's invitation arrived. Due to the length of the book, we don't get to know either character very well. They seemed to be well matched and have great sexual chemistry. My main complaint - the book just wasn't long enough. I would have liked the opportunity to get to know these characters a little more. There was a lot of great potential left on the table between the end of their week together and the epilogue.

Slow Ride ~ Cathryn Fox ~ New release

Today's review is for a fun little novella that releases next Monday.

A sexy category romance novella from Entangled's Brazen imprint... He's looking for love. She's looking for trouble... As a successful doctor and weekend cowboy, Chase Cooper enjoys a full life with plenty of female company. But lately, something hasn't felt right. He's been distracted. Antsy. Damn it, he's been lonely. With an eye on settling down with a nice girl, Coop invites his high school best friend down to his ranch to see if maybe she's the one for him... Instead, her twin sister shows up. The one who loathes him. Julia Blair is already halfway to Coop's ranch when she learns the invitation wasn't for her, but her vivacious twin sister. She has two choices: slink back home, or see just how far this farce will go. One glance at hotter-than-sin Coop, and she knows she's playing a dangerously hot game. Because what this cowboy wants, this cowboy gets... Previously released on Entangled's Flaunt imprint as Cowboy's Way - November 2013 and has been enhanced with new material.

This was a sweet, quick read. In high school, Chase Cooper (Coop)'s best friend was a girl, but he was in love with her twin sister. Since you don't date your best friend's sister, nothing came of it. Ten years later, Coop and Julia find themselves together for a week on a dude ranch. The story that follows is a little predictable. Julia decides to be more like her twin and have a fling, but ends up falling in love with Coop. Coop has been in love with her for years and is enjoying them being together, but is keeping secrets. Even though things are a little predictable, Ms. Fox does an excellent job of blending the steamy sexy times with enough relationship building that the "I love yous" are believable. Writing a novella and having a complete story is difficult and Ms. Fox manages to do just that. Slow Ride is the perfect length for a good afternoon or evening read, but the story is complete. You leave feeling like you've had a nice visit with a good couple and look forward to seeing what they are their friends are up to in future installments of the series.
