RTC_FrontCover
Cover Design: Sommer Stein / Perfect Pear Creative Covers Release Date: June 23, 2016

Synopsis
Ten years ago, Lane Lewis said goodbye to the only home he’s ever known. Now that Midnight Fate’s tour has ended, he’s more determined than ever to find a balance between music and life. But sometimes reality’s a joke, fate’s a lie, and history’s meant to repeat itself. Ten years ago he shed the pain, but now it’s seeking revenge. Noelle Nash is a hopeless romantic with a dirty mouth. After almost giving up on love, she’s been lured away from her safety net to try one more time with Lane. She’s willing to do whatever it takes to hold onto the man she loves, but her fierce protectiveness even takes her by surprise. Can she learn to accept the truth? Or will she let her fears consume her, leaving her with no choice but to walk away? Six months ago their future began. Today, it’s about to get rocked.

Rock The City is the second book in the Midnight Fate series and follows Lane, the bands drummer, and Noelle. We met both characters in Rock the Boat and it was nice to come back to see what happened after the cruise where they met.

Noelle and Lane are both well developed characters that you enjoy spending time with and want to root for as they face the challenges of life. Initially, it seems like the drama is going to center around how they are going to manage to physically be together after the band's break is over. It doesn't take long before Lane's past sweeps in upending their blissful reunion.

Ms. Riley did an excellent job of weaving relationship growth and development into the emotional and slightly suspenseful story. I enjoyed the fact that most of the drama and conflict issues were things that Lane and Noelle were facing together. But, they weren't perfect and had moments of tension between themselves too.

Technically, this is a stand alone book and someone new to the series could probably start here, but having read Rock The Boat first would help with knowing more about Noelle and several of the secondary characters.

Having read both Rock the Boat and Rock the City, I am already looking forward to what might be next for the boys of Midnight Fate.

Ingredients:
1 -Grieving musician who took his band to play for a cruise line as an escape from real life
1- Broken-hearted PR executive who recently discovered her boyfriend of 5 years cheating on her
2 - Friends with good intentions
1 - Week long cruise
1 - "Perfect Match" match making test

In the hands of Gia Riley, the ingredients above become a fun story of instant physical attraction turning into so much more. Easton and Lark are both wonderfully wounded characters who are dragged kicking and screaming into a situation they are sure they don't want. All bets are off once they first meet and their adventures are equally fun to watch.

Ms. Riley does an excellent job of balancing the instant attraction between Lark and Easton with the fact they are both still recovering from previous relationships and initially adamant that they aren't looking for more than a physical fling. Misunderstandings and fears get in their way right up until the very end of their journey, so you have to be prepared for a bit of a roller coaster.

The supporting cast of friends in Rock the Boat is just as interesting as our main characters and it would be so intriguing to see their stories down the road.
Rock the Boat is well written with great characters who embrace the emotional journey of building a relationship along with having fantastic sexy time. Definitely grab a drink and climb aboard to experience fun, sun, and romance while Lark and Easton Rock the Boat.

Gia Riley is an author whose books have been sitting in my TBR for a while and I am so glad I finally had a chance to read her work.
I started In Pieces this afternoon and honestly had to make myself put the kindle down to do things like eat dinner, talk to my parents, and put my kids to bed - the story pulled me in that much and I was almost disappointed when the story was over.
We meet Kinsley as she begins her senior year in high school and it's impossible not to like her. This poor girl has been through the absolute ringer and is plowing through to get where she wants to be in life. On that first day of school, Kinsley has an encounter with Rhett and this fantastic, wonderful boy changes the course of her life.
At first, I thought this was just a really well written story of young love. Rhett had to work to convince Kinsley he was for real, but the more I listened to him and watched how he acted with her it was easy to see that she was very lucky to find him so young. Rhett, especially when seem from Kinsley point of view had moments of being way too good to be true, but we learn that even though he’s been attracted to Kinsley for a long time, he has not been an angel while waiting to approach her. Kinsley's unusual home situation adds some conflict to their relationship, but they continue as a strong couple until they get a massive curve ball. How Kinsley's brother and her best friend handled the curve ball is my one complaint about In Pieces. Their reaction didn't really make sense to me and why they behaved the way they did was never really addressed or even brought up again as the story moved forward. Rhett and Kinsley both displayed an unusual amount of emotional maturity as they dealt with the situation, although my heart broke for her in a couple of places as they were getting things figured out.
The supporting cast of In Pieces is small, but very impactful to our characters and their behavior. I loved Kinsley and Rhett and had so much fun rooting for them. Now, I need to back and read Ms. Riley's other books!

What are you working on now?
I’m working on completing, In Pieces, releasing Nov 10th! I’m also patiently awaiting the release of two holiday novellas. I have two other books started that I’m itching to get to. They’ll be released in 2016.
Do you get to write full time or do you also have a “day” job?
I’m a behavioral therapist, but currently, I’m writing full-time along with my mommy duties.
Favorite part of being an author?
Meeting readers, blogger, and fellow authors. Some of my very best friends are people I’ve never met in person.
Scariest part of being an author?
Putting your work on display for the world to judge.
Who are your favorites to read?
You realize how impossible of a question this is, right? Oh man. Where do I begin? I have a serious lady crush on Jodi Ellen Malpas since she created MY Jesse Ward. I’ve also fallen in love with the words from so many other authors, too. I’ve read the Thoughtless Series more times than I care to count. My son’s middle name is Kellen. In my defense, he was pre-Kellan Kyle.
If You could have one super power, what would it be?
The ability to read minds. I’m a people watcher and love figuring out what makes people tick.
One piece of advice to an aspiring writer?
Don’t expect perfection with the first draft. Write what your head is begging you to get out. Then, go back and rewrite all of it with your heart.
Where can we find you?
