Just Stop Me ~ Rosalind James ~ NEW RELEASE

Sometimes you have to run away to find yourself.

Lots of young women dream of being a princess. Nina Jones isn’t one of them. After escaping from her palace/prison by burying herself under sacks of fertilizer, she ends up in a beach cottage on New Zealand’s South Island. She’s meant to be looking after a cantankerous widower. Too bad she doesn’t know how to boil an egg.

Iain McCormick may be an All Black, a member of New Zealand’s elite rugby team, and a bona fide celebrity. During the offseason, though, he’s meant to be a regular Kiwi bloke. A good son, a good neighbor, and a good citizen. But civility comes harder when you’ve been dumped at the altar. He doesn’t need anybody he has to look out for. He definitely doesn’t need to fall in love. Yeah, right.

Note: This book, like New Zealand, contains some steam. In fact, it gets downright hot in a few places, and more than a little adventurous. If that isn't your cuppa, maybe visit another country . . . er, book.

It seems the things worth keeping are often the hardest to hold... KAI
I had two things in life that mattered. My mother and my music. Mama was taken from me too soon, and now music is all I have left. It’s the thing that’s pushed me right out of backwoods Georgia into Los Angeles, where the line between fantasy and reality shimmers and blurs. I’m finally making my way, making my mark. I can’t afford to fall for one of music's brightest stars. Not now. Music is all I have left, and I’m holding on tight with both hands. I won’t let go, not even for Rhyson Gray.
RHYSON
I had one thing in my life that mattered – music. The only constant, it’s taken me to heights most people only dream about; a gift dropped in my lap at birth. I thought it was enough. I thought it was everything until I met Kai. Now she’s all I think about, like a song I can't get out of my head. If I have to chase her, if I have to give up everything - I will. And once she's mine, I won't let go.

Rock Redemption ~ Nalini Singh ~ New Release

Kit and Noah’s rock star romance is finally here in the newest addition to Nalini Singh’s Rock Kiss Series!!

 NOW AVAILABLE

Kit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendship burned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness…until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart. Noah knows he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he’d rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It’s his saving grace, but it doesn’t silence the voices that keep him up at night. Chasing oblivion through endless one-night-stands, he earns a few hours’ sleep and his bad boy reputation. When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new “it” couple, Kit discovers her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting—needing—to give Kit this, even if he can’t give her everything, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful…and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.

EXCERPT FROM ROCK REDEMPTION BY NALINI SINGH

KIT GROANED AT THE sound of her phone. Reaching out blindly toward the nightstand, she hurled mental curses upon herself for forgetting to turn it off so she could catch some uninterrupted sleep before her four-a.m. makeup call. It’d be fun and great for her career, her agent had said when recommending Kit take the superhero flick. Coming off two serious and emotionally wrenching projects, Kit had taken Harper’s advice and jumped on board the high-budget, high-octane venture. Unfortunately, Harper had forgotten to mention the four hours it would take to put her into the head-to-toe makeup required for the role. Daily. “What?” she snarled into the phone without checking to see who it was. “Hey, Katie.” Every cell in her body snapped wide awake. Lifting her eyelids, she just stared at the ceiling through gritty eyes. Her heart thumped, her throat moving convulsively as she swallowed. She hated that he could still do this to her, hated it, but her visceral response to Noah wasn’t something she could stop. She knew because she’d tried for the past two years and three months. “Noah,” she said flatly. “Do you know what time it is?” “Two fifteen,” he answered. Kit should’ve hung up. God, he’d hurt her. So much. But there was something in his voice that had her sitting up. “Are you drunk?” One thing she knew about Noah: no matter his bad-boy rep, he was never wasted. He might give a good indication of it, but look closely and those dark gray eyes were always sober. “Probably.” A silence, followed by, “I just wanted to hear your voice. Sorry for waking you.” “Wait,” she said when he would’ve hung up. “Where are you?” “Some dive.” He took a deep breath, released it in a harsh exhale. “I’m sorry for being an asshole. I wanted to tell you that. I don’t want to go without saying that.” “Noah,” she said, a horrible feeling in her stomach. “Where exactly are you?” “The Blue Flamingo Inn off Hollywood Boulevard. Far, far, far off.” He laughed, and it held no humor. “It has a neon sign of a blue—surprise!—flamingo that’s flashing right through my window. Looks like someone stole the curtains.” Having already grabbed her laptop, which she’d left beside the bed after answering some e-mails before sleep claimed her, she found the Blue Flamingo Inn. But Noah was already gone, having said, “I love your voice, Kit,” in an oddly raw tone before hanging up. He didn’t pick up when she called back. “Damn it! Damn it!” She shoved aside the blanket under which she’d been buried, having turned the AC to ice-cold as she usually did at night. Shivering, she tugged on a pair of jeans and an old sweatshirt over the panties and tank top in which she’d gone to sleep. Pulling her black hair into a rough ponytail to keep it out of her eyes, she ran through the house, phone in one pocket, credit card and driver’s license in the other. In the kitchen, she grabbed her keys off the counter and shoved her feet into the tennis shoes by the door that led to the garage. She was in her car and on the way to the motel three minutes after Noah had hung up, mouth dry and an ugliness in her gut. “Please be okay, please be okay, please be okay,” she kept saying, the mantra doing nothing to calm her down, but at least it kept her mind focused. She wanted to call Molly and Fox, or the others in the band, but no one was currently in the city. Schoolboy Choir had completed the final show in the band’s hugely successful tour just over two weeks earlier. Day after that, they’d all gone their separate ways to recharge and regroup. “Much as I love these guys,” David had said with a grin that reached the dark gold of his eyes, “I’ve been looking at their ugly mugs daily for months. We need to go blow off some steam separately before we start snarling at each other.” At the time, Kit had nodded in understanding, having had that same experience while working on location for long periods. Tonight, however, she wished the others were all here, not scattered across the country, because something was very wrong with Noah. “Noah doesn’t do drugs,” she told herself as she drove as fast as she dared, not wanting to risk getting pulled over and further delayed. “He isn’t the kind to—” She couldn’t say it, couldn’t even think of Noah ending his life. “No,” she said firmly, her hands white-knuckled on the steering wheel. “Noah isn’t like that.” If you’d like to read the rest of this chapter, as well as the next, click this link: http://nalinisingh.com/books/rock-kiss-series/rock-redemption/

4 Stars - Would Highly Recommend

Review Copy Provided by Publisher via Net Galley

WOW! Nalini Singh is another author that I have been hearing about, but haven't read until now and I am so glad I finally had the chance.
Kit and Noah are fantastic characters and you get pulled into their story very quickly. It doesn't take long to discover that Noah is incredibly complex and has some serious issues to deal with. Kit is fantastic and warm, but you feel her heartbreak as she deals with Noah and his behavior. Ms. Singh has created people that are easy to relate to, even if we've never been exactly in their shoes.
There is an element of suspense woven into the story of Kit and Noah's relationship that keeps you guessing. There were a couple of places where I thought I had the issue of Kit's stalked figured out, but was blind sided by who it really was.
This is the third book in the Rock Kiss series, but I had no issues with reading it as a stand alone. The cast of secondary characters is not large, but they are integral to the story. There are hints as to prior and future story lines, but nothing that makes a reader feel lost if they have not read the prior books. I am looking forward to the chance to go back and read the early books in the series and highly recommend Rock Redemption to readers who are fans of Ms. Singh already and newbies like me a like.

Love to Hate You - Isabelle Richards ~ New Release, Review, and Giveaway

Love to Hate You_Finalhigh

Love to Hate You is LIVE!

Synopsis

Some connections are so powerful they will not be denied. Despite doing everything in their power to fight their feelings, Chase and Arianna decide to give their love a second chance. They hope that the long, painful journey back to each other will have taught them not to make the same mistakes again. This time they’ll get it right. All they need is a little time for the wounds to heal.
Unfortunately, life doesn’t stop just because love is in the air. Just as they begin to reconcile, their relationship is bombarded by crisis after crisis throwing their lives into a tailspin. Had they learned from their past, Chase and Arianna would find a way to lean on each other during trying times. But some people never learn.
Instead of revealing their strength, each challenge exposes their vulnerabilities. The cracks in their relationship turn into chasms as they let each other down time and time again. Hurt and betrayal overshadow the love, and they slip back into old habits. Hiding behind hatred for each other is much easier than facing the truth.
Will they find their way back to each other or will they stay trapped in the space between love and hate?

5 Stars - Best of the Best

Review Copy provided by Author

This is a book that I have been excited about; I love Isabelle Richards and I wanted to see the conclusion of Hate to Love You. But, I’ve also been dreading a little bit because – well, Isabelle tends to have a “little” angst in her books and the title IS “Love to Hate You” so, I worried about where we were going. It turns out that I didn’t have anything to worry about. In Love to Hate You, Ari and Chase go on a roller coaster ride with an unexpected, but totally worthwhile ending. Love to Hate You picks up exactly where the previous book left off and the dual point of view storytelling was incredibly helpful because it allowed us to see inside both of their heads. Events that looked one way from Ari’s point of view had a completely different context when viewed through Chase’s experiences. Chase, Ari, and their new found relationship face several big obstacles right off the bat and they seem to handle them well at the time. Both seem to work hard to curb their natural inclinations and work at being together. Ari finally takes one hit too many and reverts to her natural instincts to run. The story that follows breaks your heart, then starts to put it together again. One of the interesting aspects of the story was an apparent role reversal for Chase and Ari. In Hate to Love You, Ari appeared to be the much more mature one even though they are exactly the same age. In Love to Hate You, Chase is definitely better equipped to handle the bumps in the road. The more mature Chase was wonderful to watch and I appreciated the steadfast approach he took to things. One things that I found telling was the fact that Ari was convinced Chase would leave because of mistakes that she had made. My heart hurt for both of them at multiple places as we moved through the story together. After I finished the book, I found myself thinking about some of the underlying issues in the story. What were Chase and Ari really dealing with? What happens to someone when the foundation they have built their life on is pulled away? When do you go after a loved one and when do you wait for them to come to you? How do you know the difference? How do we handle grief? Is there such a thing as a good secret? Is fast the best way to handle a problem or does it just create problems later? Can treatment for a problem cross a line and become a problem? Our super couple went through a lot together over the course of both books, but they had to in order to learn what was really important to both of them. When you sit down to read this book, be prepared for an emotional experience, but make sure you have read Hate to Love You first.

Only Shark in the Sea ~ DelSheree Gladden ~ New Release

Vance Sullivan has always been the rock everyone turns to for help…

His work with patients recovering from traumatic events makes him the perfect person to help his friend, Guy Saint Laurent, with one of his Date Shark appointments. When Vance meets hesitant, frightened Natalie Price, he suspects she’s hiding the truth behind her fears, and he’s drawn in by a need to help her.

Haunted by a terrible event from her past, Natalie can’t even endure being touched without suffering a crippling panic attack…

She doesn’t know why, but Natalie feels Vance might be the only one who can help her put the pieces of her life back together. Despite the tension their arrangement causes with his girlfriend, their bi-weekly sessions seem to be helping…as long as he keeps his promise not to push her to reveal more than she’s ready to share.
Suddenly the tables have turned…

When Vance suffers his own unspeakable tragedy, asking for help is the last thing he wants to do. Drowning in grief and guilt, crushed by betrayal and lies, Vance needs a lifeline.

Natalie has no idea why anyone thinks she can help him, given her own deep-rooted fears—but she knows she has to try.

A twisted notion of justice makes the danger all too real,
and Vance and Natalie realize it might take one broken soul to mend another…
DelSheree Gladden was one of those shy, quiet kids who spent more time reading than talking. Literally. She didn't speak a single word for the first three months of preschool, but she had already taught herself to read. Her fascination with reading led to many hours spent in the library and bookstores, and eventually to writing. She wrote her first novel when she was sixteen years old, but spent ten years rewriting and perfecting it before having it published.

Native to New Mexico, DelSheree and her husband spent several years in Colorado for college and work before moving back home to be near family again. Their two children love having their cousins close by. When not writing, you can find DelSheree reading, painting, sewing and trying not to get bitten by small children in her work as a dental hygienist. DelSheree has several bestselling young adult series, including "Invisible" which was part of the USA Today Bestselling box set, "Pandora." The Date Shark Series is her first contemporary romance series, and her first book in her upcoming new adult series, The Ghost Host, will be releasing 2015.
