I think that this might be my favorite addition to the Quantum series after the original trilogy!
Aileen and Kristian are characters that we have seen along the way, but haven't really gotten to know until now. They are people who would have never crossed paths if not for their mutual friends falling in love, so there is definitely a "fate" element here.
The fact that they both have baggage they are bringing to the table makes it easy to root for them, especially when you see just how good they are for each other.
My one big complaint about the last book in the series was that the sexy time over took the story. That has been corrected here and Ms. Force does an excellent job of blending Aileen and Kristian's developing relationship in with their more sensual moments.
Technically, this is a stand alone, but I don't know if I would recommend reading it that way. Given that this is the 6th book in the series with a very interconnected secondary cast, I think having at least some of the back story from the other books would help.
