My existence has one purpose, her. A Moment Like You by Claudia Burgoa is available now!
USA Today Bestselling author Claudia Burgoa presents a witty, funny & heartfelt billionaire, enemies-to-lovers romance. I hate my boss. He’s the devil in disguise—but I just can’t seem to stay away. When my employer Henry Alderidge is set to claim a large inheritance from his deceased father, he drags me along with him—because he needs his assistant. I have no choice but to move across the country with Satan’s bastard and stay with him for over a year in order to pay for my mother’s debts. Henry drags me to a small town where everyone knows your business and to a family that’s more broken than close. The Alderidge brothers are handsome, arrogant, and sinful. They’re also too much to handle. Henry’s dad lost his mind before he died, and the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. I don’t know how I’ll survive for eighteen months with this man. Except you should never judge a book by its cover. And Henry Alderidge has more hiding beneath the surface than I ever thought possible... The Baker’s Creek Billionaire Brothers series is a romantic comedy saga packed with the perfect mix of angst, tears, and laughs. If you like strong heroines & alpha males, steamy romances and witty love stories, this series is for you!

Elizabeth's Review

3.5 stars - Worth a Reader's Time

A Moment Like You is the second book in a series and I have not read the first book - That information will be important later as we talk about why this was not a full 4 star or higher read for me.

Our main characters here are Henry and Sofia. Henry has a huge emotional evolution in this story and it honestly is one of my favorite things about the book. We see him go from closed off and cold to warm and loving and the transformation is believable. Sofia is pretty constant during the story. I liked her from the beginning and that impression just improved as the book went along, she has an inherit grace that made me want to be her friend.

There is a lot going on in a Moment Like You and, initially, it was overwhelming and made it a bit hard to settle into the book and enjoy the story. Part of that is the fact that this is series focusing on 6 brothers and they (plus their significant others) are all living in one house. This is where having not read the first book impacted my enjoyment of this particular story. The large secondary cast made it difficult to figure out who was who and how they fed into the various relationships. I had a feeling of "missing something" during parts of the book, especially when one of Henry's brothers was briefly taking center stage.

Managing the large secondary cast is the other piece of why this isn't a full 4 star read. In trying to manage the large cast and touch on all of the people who needed to at least make an appearance, I felt that some of the Henry/Sophia interactions were short changed. I would have appreciated a more narrow focus so that we could have seen more of the evolution from coworkers to more for Henry and Sophia.

Overall, I enjoyed this read. Having missed book one, I would definitely suggest people start in order. I would like to go back and read book one to see what I missed as well as keeping an eye out for when the other brothers get their own stories.
