Sable Peak by Devney Perry is now live!
An unrequited love, small town romance from Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, Devney Perry.
Vera Gallagher is chasing constant. For four years, her life was anything but normal. And the years before that she refuses to even remember. Dwelling on the past only hurts. Life is fragile, a lesson her mother taught her well. She's determined not to waste a moment of her newfound freedom.
Maybe some would consider her crush on Mateo Eden wasted time. Maybe some would call her a fool for loving a man who hasn't once dropped a crumb of interest her way. Still, to Vera, it's Mateo or nothing.
He's handsome. Charming. Witty. And he loves his family the way Vera loves—with her whole heart.
Maybe he'll never notice her. Maybe she's too damaged, too broken, to find that normal life she craves. Maybe her secrets will always keep them apart. But Vera will love him anyway. Whether Mateo realizes it or not.

Sable Peak is a fitting end to the Edens series!
This features the youngest Eden brother, Mateo, whom we have seen sporadically throughout the series, and Vera, a character introduced in Layla and Vance's story. While this is a standalone, Vera's back story highly depends on Crimson River, so I suggest reading that book of the series first.
Ms Perry does an excellent job of balancing the interactions and updates of the larger Eden family with giving Vera and Mateo room to grow and become friends before he finally sees the light. While Mateo didn't bring the same type of baggage with him that Vera did, I appreciated the way they were a support to each other and helped each other grow to be their best selves.
With several emotional moments, Sable Peak probably tugged at my heart strings the most out of the books in the series. I was glad to see several lingering questions resolved (you have to read to see what!). While this is the "end" for the Edens, part of me wonders if there is a small door open for a furture series out the next generation?
