As someone who is a member of the over 40 club, I have enjoyed Ms Dunbar’s Silver Fox series. The idea that romance doesn’t die just because we’ve reached a certain age or gone through certain things.
In this installment we meet another former member of the Chrome Teardrops - Denton as he returns home to say goodbye to his mother and ends up reconnecting with his widowed high school best friend.

This book was a little less straightforward than some of the other books in the series as Mati and Denton have a history that is more complicated that it appears at first glance. Not only did their high school friendship triangle leave wounds and secrets, they are also coping with a 27 year absence, grief, and the occasional misunderstanding.

Mati, Denton, and the characters surrounding them are all well written and intriguing. I loved seeing the connections to the previous Silver Fox books and and very curious about some of the Blue Ridge characters might be going.
