What a fun addition to the Charleston Heat series!
This stand alone read features two secondary characters (Julia and Greyson) that we’ve met before but don’t know well. Getting to know them through their unconventional romance is a lot of fun!
These two are brought together - in the real sense of the word - by a surprise pregnancy. One of the things I appreciated about the story is that the author was very real in discussing Julia’s reaction to discovering the pregnancy and some of the trials and tribulations that come with it. The thought processes are authentic and relatable.
I also appreciated that the bulk of the book was spent with Julia and Greyson navigating the “what now.” It was a pleasure to watch them grow from a casual, just physical dynamic to a place were they could be friends/co parents then discover they really do like each other.
These are great characters on their own and seeing them together was entertaining. The secondary cast are all people we’ve met before (or will be meeting soon) in primary character roles. Ms Peterson does an excellent job of blending them in and not letting them take over. This is an independent story, so a reader can easily start the series here. Just be warned, there are spoilers for the first two books if you haven’t read them.
I very much enjoy this series and am looking forward to what comes next.
