Forbidden by Tia Louise ~ New Release & Review

FORBIDDEN by Tia Louise is now live!

FORBIDDEN
By Tia Louise

I have one job: Get close and take him out. The only problem is, I want him more.

I was barely five when I lost my brother; seven when my father was murdered.
Overnight, I was taken by my mysterious uncle, grafted into a world of crime I didn’t understand and couldn’t escape.

The first ten years, I did my best to blend in.
The next four, I reinvented myself, growing stronger, searching for answers.
Now I have one assignment—take down the man who knows our secrets.

Professor Dirk Winston is my target, and I’m expected to be a good soldier, disguised as a good student.
Only he’s not the passive bookworm I expect.
He’s ripped muscles, bedroom eyes, dirty mouth, and ready for a fight.

But I’ve got my plans of my own, and this hot teacher is going to do more than give me grades and take my panties.
He’s going to help me get revenge.

(FORBIDDEN is a five-alarm-spicy age-gap, student-professor romance with secrets, lies, and answers to all your questions. No cheating. No cliffhanger.)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Review Copy Provided by Author

Forbidden is the final (?) installment of a series surrounding the fall out from a defunct Russian mafia family.
Dirk Winston is a character that we’ve seen in the back ground of other installments of the series, he’s been in a secondary role supporting his brother and friend as they saved their lady loves and found a happily ever after. Now, four years later he is moving on to make something of his life - he didn’t count on meeting Reanna.
Reanna is a complicated character, I wasn’t sure I liked her at first. Getting to know her created a more sympathetic impression.
Ms Louise did an excellent job of layering the intrigue elements along with the taboo aspects of a professor and student potential relationship. While this is technically a standalone, reading the series in order will go a long way to helping the reader understand the back story both Dirk and Reanna are working from.
I appreciated the fact that we saw both Dirk and a Reanna struggle with their relationship at different points. It helped frame the moral standpoints they were coming from and see who they really were. The fact that the conflict stemmed from those moral struggles, but wasn’t the simplest option added to the fun of this story. If this is the last time we see this group of characters, this was a great way to wrap things up!
