A Wife in Every Sense ~ Joanne Walsh ~ New Release Quick Review

Kate Burrows is crushing on her boss big time. Aleksei Aleksanou is tall, dark, and every inch the image of a classic Greek god—if said Greek god was incredibly sexy, rich, and a complete player. The only way she can get over him is by quitting her job and seeing the world...once she indulges in one wickedly-hot night with him. Only now she's pregnant. Aleksei is furious when Kate arrives on the small Greek island of Naxea and tries to hide the truth for him. He takes matters into his own hands—by announcing the pregnancy to his family and asking her to marry him. Now Kate must decide if she can marry the man of her hottest, sexiest dreams...knowing she will never be the wife of his heart.

This was a fun, easy read. We meet Kate, a mid 20's personal assistant who is leaving her job to travel, and Aleksei, her wealthy Greek boss, just as Kate is getting ready for her trip. We learn that Kate's attraction to Aleksei is one of the reasons she is leaving her job and he is attracted to her too. An unexpected one night stand has consequences neither planned on. Kate and Aleksei's paths cross again just after she realizes she is pregnant. The story that follows is entertaining, but not remarkable. Both Kate and Aleksei are interesting characters with histories that color their behavior with each other. The transition from former colleagues to a married couple has it's ups and downs, but nothing extreme. I appreciated the mature way Kate handled a key issue. She stood up for herself, but did not cause a lot of drama. The overall feeling of this book for me was "bland." It was a cute story, but nothing really reached out and grabbed me.
