Advise From a Jilted Bride ~ Piper Rayne ~ New Release and Review

What’s a girl to do after being ditched at the altar by text message?
That’s right. Text. Message.
How does she pick up the pieces and move on?
I’m no Dear Abby but here’s a little free advice…
Advice #1 – First, purge your apartment of all things him—by tossing his belongings off the balcony. Advice #2 – Do not, I repeat do not, throw anything out into the hallway because you’ll injure your hot new neighbor.
Advice #3 – When said neighbor brings over Chinese Food do not let him stay and keep you company. It’s awkward when you realize he’s your boss.
Advice #4 – Accept his offer to help you with your side business but think twice before using a date to his sister’s wedding as collateral.
Advice #5 – Investigate who your mystery neighbor really is. Don’t trust his word even if he’s the world’s best kisser.
If you listen to nothing else, pay attention to that last one. It’s the most important and will save you a lot of heartache. Xo, LOVESICK IN LAKE STARLIGHT   ADD TO GOODREADS

3.5 Stars- Worth a Reader's Time

A book series is always an interesting thing, especially if you are reading in order. I feel like everything after the first book gets judged a little more harshly - and I have to admit I am guilty of that.
We met Brooklyn and her siblings in “One Night Stand” and “Jilted Bride” picks up shortly after in terms of timeline.
I liked both Brook and Wyatt, as they were both interesting characters with more going on than we saw at first glance. I especially enjoyed how Brook took the negative and used it as a learning opportunity and ended up spring boarding into something more.
My “complaint” about this well written and fun story is that I felt liked it leaned a bit too heavy on the previous book in terms of world building and plot line. There were several inside jokes and references to things that happened in “One Night Stand” that I am not sure would make complete sense to someone reading this as a stand-alone. There is also a heavy similarity to the key conflict/resolution. While there are enough differences that it works for both stories, I hope we see more variety in the future Bailey sibling books.
The Bailey siblings create a large secondary cast and we see a lot of them (some more than others) and there are lots of breadcrumbs regarding future or potential future story lines. I am curious to see how the series plays out and if future books will work on their own as well as this one does.
Overall, this is a fun read and I hope to see more of Austin/Holly and Brooklyn/Wyatt as we get to know the rest of the Bailey’s
