Slightly down on her luck heroine? Check
Tough guy with a soft center? Check
Instant attraction, but they fight it? Check
Those are just a few of the pieces that we see in Aldo, a new series starter from Melanie Moreland. Aldo falls in well with the heroes from Ms Moreland's Hidden Justice series, but definitely with a darker side. He is a bad boy that is easy to like and I loved watching him fight his attraction to Violet.
Violet is a fun leading lady. When we first meet her, she's had a rough go but is prepared to battle her way back. That sass and spunk made her a great counterpoint to Aldo and had me rooting for her to find a happy ending.
This isn't a super deep read but it was enjoyable and a pleasure to spend time with. From the instant attraction to the struggle to find words and the intriguing element of the story, I was hooked! I liked and found myself rooting for both Aldo and Vi. The supporting cast is very small and we had a chance to get to know them a bit too. I liked Roman and Nonna V, I can't wait to see what Ms Moreland has up her sleeve for Roman.
