As we have hung out with the Whitlock's of Sugar Loaf, Rowan has been the annoying, but somewhat sweet younger brother poking at everyone as they found their soul mate. Here we get to see him fight with and fall for the girl next door.
Ms Michaels creates a believable dynamic here for both why Rowan and Charlotte dislike each other and why they might get past that to explore the chemistry brewing between them and possibly more. I enjoyed seeing them navigate the "I hate you" phase when it was obvious that they didn't really. The growth of the romance between these two was entertaining to see. Both Rowan and Charlotte have a lot of individual emotional growth that makes them appealing as people too.
The secondary cast here is fairly small, mainly the Whitlock family and a few close friends that help move the story along. It was fun to see the advice handed out by well-meaning people and if Rowan and Charlotte would take it. I am excited to see what happens with younger sister Brynn gets her chance to fall in love.
